Question about ECO Community Spaces

Since some weeks, I'm playing again with Eco NPC NAP voting enabled and it works quite well.

But while every neighbourhood votes for NAPs, absolutely nobody votes for the Community Space lots in Evergreen Harbor (or for my self-built lots in other worlds). They stay forever in their default state. Should I file a bug report or am I doing something wrong?
  • Maybe I am confusing voting for NAPs with voting for community spaces, it's been a long time since I've used either. I remember that for community spaces to change them you needed to collect votes from townies, you basically need to go up to townies and ask them to vote for the type of community space lot you want. I think you can collect these votes only during week-ends. Basically a lot of work for lots that function exactly the same but look different.

The problem is that you only have influence in your own neighbourhood, no matter what you do. If NPCs don't vote for Community Spaces, then all these lots are dead outside your neighbourhood - and that's a pity, because I like the market and fabricator functionalities.

I use a mod to enable changing venue policies instantly with any current Sim, I never saw it change on its own.

Well, these lots literally function the same, no matter what you call them, so if you want a fabricator in your market you can do that. In my game I have all the functionalities in one lot, I have a dilapidated version to appear like it's a rough neighbourhood and a cleaned up version. But most often, I just have one version of the lot and put everything on it.
  • There's a cheat to do it. With a sim who lives in the same neighborhood as the community space (the same neighborhood, not just the same world), type testingcheats on, then shift-click on the voting board and the option will come up.

As to your original question, I think the voting board is separate from the NAPs.
I last did a community voting board in a neighborhood where the community space was newly placed and there were already 4 NAPs active in the neighborhood. I did not have to repeal a NAP in order to do the community space vote.

It's been a long time since I started a game in a neighborhood with a voting board, so can't remember how it works in the early game-- like whether you can vote for a NAP and vote on the board the same weekend. You could try it and see.

I've never seen them change autonomously, nor have I ever had to ask anyone else to vote for them to change. I just take one sim who lives in the neighborhood to vote, and my sim's vote carries the day.
  • I believe there is a setting in game options where only the player can vote. Maybe you have that enabled.

No, I have the NPC voting feature enabled. And there is no differentiation between NAPs and Community Spaces. I'm 100 % sure that when Eco Living came out, the Community Spaces changed autonomously ...

Thanks for mentioning (and making it) had to crab it now.
