Well... as I stated elsewhere the difference between having Seasons installed or not really impacts the world. As in if your Sim hates rain, she is... SOL.Also, speaking weather / climate: I find it a little amusing that the every day outfits and the cold weather outfits are 90% the same gear. Also seems "realistic" when as an outsider (I am Swedish) compare my pre-consieved notions about Britain with this pack :smiley: One of the Cold Weather outfits (the padded vest one) even has rolled up sleeves. And Wellies, of course. Over here you would have to have like 3 layers of socks in those to not literally lose your toes in winter. Not to be too mean about it but I always get a giggle when some home renovation show *Cough* Grand Designs *Cough* goes on and on about the new house having three glass windows as if it was an innovation from last year or something. :wink: I guess "Twelve degrees and raining" is typical Xmas Day and Midsummer's Eve weather.Other than that... at least two of the women's hair styles really scream "English Soap Opera" to me. Again, I am not making fun of people from Britain, I am fully aware that we are all weird to others. That's the point of being human after all :smiley:

Oh, more:I just now realized that I recognize the birds! As in the models for the wild birds are actual birds I can see from my window! And the bird calls in the woods are the same I hear when walking the dogs :smile:

What do they need three glass windows for with 12 degrees and raining weather on Christmas? Isn't that a bit of an overkill?

Yeah, my mother grew up on an actual farm with no indoor plumbing, hardly any money, and no private phone line. They had an outhouse and a pan under the bed to pee in. Not very glamorous!

It's not even that; as long as you're actually aware that the life you are able to live (with phones, cars, probably a bus line, wifi / 4 or 5G coverage, modern healthcare and the option of not 100% rely on what you can scrape together (aka modern grocery stores) I'm fine with that. That's what my parents are doing; they are pensioners now but they spent 12 years going for a 1 hour commute to Stockholm every day keeping their old day jobs and thought it was worth it getting away from the big city.

It's the people who genuinely think the way they are living now is the good old days that annoy the Brent Heckling out of me.

And the fact that you are able to relax despite relying on farming is telling me you're probably not actually relying on farming. You are either keeping your day job in the city (even if you work from home most of the time), have another business that actually bring in the money (coder, designer, or have gone into a more local business using your talents, like moving your plumber business from the big city out in the boondocks).

If you were actually living of farming you would not be able to relax. At all.

Yeah but the fantasy is country life, not necessarily farming. I grew up in the country surrounded by farms but my family never did any of that, however I still feel like a country girl due to other elements of our life. Of course we had modern luxuries though! But I don’t really think people literally want to go back in time, more just experience a quieter life.

Yeah, that is true. It does feel that's what the sims team were going with when they designed that pack.

Another benefit of timber cottages then... adding insulation is just a matter of having well... insulation, some boards and nails.
