Has Neighborhood Stories Gone Wild In Your Game?

They seem awfully random.

I have neighborhood stories disabled, but I still get the phone calls, and from what I could see the game seemed to just pick my sims closest friend and then pick a random thing happening with them, often with a sim that they had no previous connection with.

I'm not sure if the game checks for relationship points before picking a random event to happen. But it doesn't feel like it?

Very often when I get calls the next thing is me going "who?".
