Change rent per day.
https://i.imgur.com/xFJpYxH.png - djsboonieSeasoned Scout@TTNsimmer in his video it took James Turner a bit over one sim-week to get the rent from his tenants.
- Goth583New TravelerI was watching a Game Changer and I think they said the rent is only paid out once a week, on a Wednesday. So, your earnings will be for the previous week, like a real-life paycheck. You also have that pesky $50 fee, so you have to take that into account too when charging.
- SimmervilleSeasoned AceOh no! This will not work when playing rotationally? Only weekly, and only Wednesdays? I was hoping for a way for the landlord to charge whenever, even if it would involve some extra interaction with the landlord's mailbox or phone. It is not possible for me to play all landlords on a Wednesday. There will be minimum 20 landlords in my save because I play rotationally and just stop a couple days in each household.
Hopefully they will patch in a way to manage this in more detail. At this point I will need to calculate and pay that rent via a spreadsheet - which really should not be necessary with a pack dedicated to landlord business. - SimmervilleSeasoned AceI found that when a tenant moves into a rental unit, it should be done from live mode and not via the bottom right side world map UI. I had a Landlord set up a lot with 3 units, and when checking misc popups the rent showed correctly. However, when I tried to move in a tenant from world map view, the popup said the rent was §0. Then I entered the empty lot where the tenant sim was temporarily staying, and when moving via his phone, the rent showed up correctly when pointing at that lot in the map.
So, I suspect those early access videos claiming their Landlord was paid nothing, might have moved in the tenant via the bottom/right side UI from the world map, without the tenant already being the active household? I'll post this in the EA thread (if I find any). - SheriSimSeasoned Hotshot

What is the $50 fee for? And is it the tenant that pays it, or the owner? And is it for each unit? - djsboonieSeasoned ScoutAnd to add to the fun apparently there's a bug where even though the daily rent is correct you get a bill for a LOT more. Deligracy's LP tenants got charged over 34 Billion for their rent ?. Hope they fix *that* soon.

The owner pays it, but I think it comes out of the rent collected. Its daily unit tax. I saw Deligracy's video about that and so far I haven't seen anything like that happen. She did say that it was known at the time as well, and that it was to be fixed before it was released, so I'm hoping that's true because the struggle is real. - flauschtrudRising Adventurer

I did some test run to see if/how rent works and the daily tax is paid via the landlord's bills. You can find it in the bills summary on the mailbox (I think "other taxes" or something like that). - djsboonieSeasoned Scout

I've just finished a build of three (I'd say) mid-range units, basement utilities and rooftop patio in Bridgeview, Newcrest and the rent has somehow come out at over $4 Billion! What the hell have I done wrong?
@BearyBry you did nothing wrong, it seems to be a bug. At least yours isn't over $34 Billion like Deligracy got during her early access LP.
