Other than that - I agree that the calendar is affecting how I play, and that in a positive way. I love this feeling of time and year. I play with ageing off, but turn it on for one night only, normally the night between Winter and Spring.
I play on Long, but you idea of turning aging on in between Winter and Spring has me intrigued.
The only problem is that most sims in my world die on New Year's Eve, lol. Therefore, I'll choose another day every now and then for variety when it comes to funerals and so on :)
