HelloSeasons - hate it. winter is endless, rains constantly, hate the restrictions on gardening. You can also use cheats to change the season to skip winter and fall. I'll post what I wrote in another thread. The snow is so fun, though, and I am loving the gardening and flower arranging -- and you can even build and use a greenhouse to grow year-round (otherwise plants only bloom in their season). For your second question, the only way to not experience a certain season is to switch to a different season when one you don't want comes along, using the weather machine.

Although in my legacy save game, we tend to get the electricity shut down regularly, because my Sims families are too poor to pay the bill (because they have the thermostat set to cool) :D

Ha ha! That's what I love though about the pack. The game isn't such an easy ride anymore. There's some challenges to it now.

Sounds interesting. I enjoy a bit of a challenge, but I think when we had every single pack in the sims 3, things got a bit too complicated so ive been reluctant with this one! Thanks for your insight!

I hate it too. It killed my Sim cause she was walking her dog in the summer heat. :'(

I love Seasons but the splicing problem is an issue which prevents one way of getting rare seeds. However as your sim advances through the career the ability to buy rare seeds from the catalogue is unlocked and quite a number can be found by fishing. Another problem is that sims in the science career can no longer garden because the plants renew themselves (bloom or give produce, dry out or gain weeds) at 6 am. There is a mod which allows scientists to start work earlier, but it is otherwise a really annoying problem.

You also have the option to turn off blizzards and thunderstorms, if memory serves. I'm thinking about tweaking that, too. It does rain a great deal and it's very hard for my Sims to go out to do much.

I don’t play with gardening a lot, but if I’m not mistaken, you could just build a green house (just build a normal house or room, use glass roofs or windows for aesthetics if you want to) and grow stuff in there. If the plants are sheltered, you can harvest through the whole year.
