Seeking tips on making Sims more social. (Now with update)

Can you offer more details/help?

For me, it's all about keeping a routine. On a certain day each week, take your sims to an art gallery, a bar, a gym,or anywhere that has points of interest for them. The repetition can help you turn this into a habit, and getting out there will give your sims chances to meet sims with similar interests.

I have a community center for this purpose; tons of activities for different sims. Every night, one of my sims meets up with her girl friends and they do yoga together. Their kids tag along and play in one of the play areas, or watch TV, or paint.

Even if you don't use clubs, sending your sim out dancing often builds friendships with others. When I start a new save, that's usually what I do to get them out and about meeting people.

Could try just joining a club and see what happens.

I don't actually like any of the ones that are available and like to make my own, as you can add what activities and rules to it.
Like marital status (which would suit your sim), age, trait

For example my sim is single just left uni
I've started a club for her which
Requirements are - single, young adult and adult, traits are cheerful, family oriented, loves outdoors, romantic and good
Activities working out, chess, friendly with everyone, romantic and swimming
banned activities are fighting

"Grind" the friendly and funny routine.
Have them talk to everyone.

I converted the Torendi Tower into a Youth Centre (cinema, cafe, dancing/DJ, basketball, yoga and that swimming pool).
Maybe that will be a decent start along with getting at least one of the ladies in a club.

• throw a house party, invite a bunch of acquaintances and make it a goal to reach friend status with one or two of them during the event
  
• if your sim has nothing to do, pop them on the computer to socialise with an acquaintance or friend
  
• a personal favourite - if your sim uses the xanadu sunset flavour on the bubble blower they have the chance of getting a happy moodlet that boosts their friend-making ability by either a bit (Very Voluble, Happy +1 for 3 hours) or a lot (Loquacious, Happy +3 for 4 hours). these moodlets give an extra boost on friendly introduction and the green bar goes up quicker. it's really handy
  
• for help with romance, you could give your commercial lots the romantic aura lot trait

I usually take Simmies to the bar, gym or art gallery and just have them meet anybody who looks interesting. Then, you have the ability to invite them over to your house for a BBQ or for a separate outing to increase friendship even more!
