Should "Worlds" be closed off?

NO! The freedom to be able to move from world to world without my Sims losing their relationships is why I love TS4 so much. To go back to the closed world would be such a downgrade!

There needs to be some kind of limit or regulation. It's completely unrealistic seeing Nancy Landgraab jogging around Oasis Springs in the morning, then swimming in Sulani by the afternoon and clubbing in Windenburg at night.
Shouldn't those places at least feel further away from each other?!

Being able to travel between worlds like San Myshuno, Sulani and Batuu by clicking one button makes their Sims lose the feeling of having a home.

Optional is always the best option.

There was really no reason for TS3 worlds to be closed off, they didn't have anything that made them particular and you wouldn't want to spread to the other worlds. Large worlds were hard on computers, small worlds were just small and limited especially when you had large lots occupied by useless rabbit holes. I prefer the TS4 worlds, a lot smaller, and if you fancy a change of scenery or a different scenario for a while, it's just a phone call away. I don't mind other sims travelling as well, and some do seem to travel more than others. When they pop up in other worlds it's like seeing old friends.

Ideally every world wouldn’t be automatically connected and you would add additional worlds onto your “home” world. Similar to Sims 2. The setup with 4 is like one giant world which has benefits but also drawbacks.

I hated not being able to visit other worlds in TS3, I could never decide which to choose for my saves knowing that I’d be effectively trapped in one world the whole time. I don’t see any benefit to closing them. I much prefer the TS4 version.

For me ideally separate fully open worlds and/ or neighborhoods that are always accessible to active sims.
Townies and premades however, need to be restricted to the world they live in, like in TS3, unless the player invites them.
The fact that they’re spawning just about anywhere is a huge immersion breaker and one of the major things I dislike about TS4.

I do love the ability to go from place to place - I imagine they're like neighboring cities or (in the US, may we rest in peace), east coast states that are only hours away via drive.

I like to think that Brindleton Bay is not far from Evergreen Harbor, Willow Creek is close to Newcrest and Magnolia Promenade, Glimmerbrook to Forgotten Hollow, Del Sol Valley and Oasis Springs, Windenburg to Britechester. There are some places that I feel like could also fit in there like Newcrest may be close-ish to San Myshuno, and Strangerville might be close to Oasis Springs, but they're further away from the other "cities."

The only place that feels like it should be out of my reach by "car" or bike or taxi or how ever Sims get around, is Sulani and the vacation worlds. So I would love to toggle the ability to travel to Sulani. It would be cool to have the option to live in Sulani, and have Sims from other worlds travel there as a vacation. Same with the vacation worlds, because why not ;)

Nope. I move more than the law allows.swap sims all over the place and visit any world I feel like.
