From the EA app:
Grow your power
Power progression for Ghosts has 5 tiers split between good and evil lanes, as well as a 4-tier neutral track in the middle. As you work to become the best (or worst) ghoul you can be, you'll unlock powerful abilities. Make sure to watch your stamina gauge; you'll get more see-through when you're low on energy. The ultimate ability of the good track is Benevolent Blessing, and the ultimate ability of the evil track is Otherworldly Curse.
How will you haunt?
You can be a very friendly ghost and help out around the house you're haunting, cleaning messes and fixing broken items. This will earn you Goodwill essences. You can also embrace the fiendish fun of scaring living Sims to earn Fear essences. Both types of essence can be sold for Simoleons (Ghosts need money, too!).
Visit the dead
Crypts can hold the urns of up to 20 Sims, but they are more than just a final resting place. The living can visit to mourn, nap, WooHoo, or join the Mortician career. Eerie adventures are also waiting; make careful choices and you could find treasure, or something less pleasant. Cemeteries are a common site for grieving rituals. Ghosts often spend time there, and if you encounter the grave keeper at night he might share a frightful tale. Cemeteries can be created and placed in any world.
People, places, & poltergeists
No trip to Ravenwood will be complete without a trip to the Baleful Bog, a large river with supernatural powers. Sims can go here for an out-of-body experience. Ghost Sims or Sims who are close to death can visit the Baleful Bog to be Reborn, if they've completed their Bucket Lists/Unfinished Business. You can also visit Alice's dead tree to get a quest from the ghost mother, adventure in a Haunted House, meet Grim in the Garden Ruins, encounter the frightening Edith in the village, and more.

Possible Heirlooms include both craftable items and items available in Build Mode, like quilts and music boxes.
I just checked my Build/Buy -- we currently have one quilt to hang on the wall and no music boxes. So our Sims are going to be able to buy quilts and music boxes. I wonder what else that merchant will have?

Third week recap!
First we had the Gameplay trailer. The recap for that is here.
But what about info shared by SimGurus?
- Still some surprises left...
- There will be some fun cross-pack bucket list options.
- Grim Reaper in the new saves will get new genetic pre-set as he's a faceless entity. Grim Reapers in old saves won't be affected.
- This is as indeed, you can now finally Try for Baby with the Grim Reaper. Yay...
So then, the patch comes out on Tuesday (just 2 days left!). Plus the livestream date is still unknown, but it should happen the next week at this point (Note. This is purely a speculation and might not in fact turn out to be true).
With the patch, I'll be updating the traits list on Tuesday. Other updates that might be there will have to wait until Friday.
- EgonVMSeasoned Ace
And we got the livestream now! Recap and catches here!

When a Sim in the household has moved on, the other Sims in the household will get the “Perspectives on Death” trait.
- SimmervilleSeasoned Ace
Seeing this, items can probably be "Heirloom Eligible" or not. It must mean that not all deco items can be passed on as heirlooms, as I first thought. I wonder if only items restricted to this EP can be passed on in a will. Hopefully crafted stuff as well, but there might be a risk that the item must be crafted after his pack was installed. Hoping I'm wrong as I was planning even for CC items to be such heirlooms.

Ravenwood's Description:
Things always get a little spooky in Ravenwood. The Whispering Glen with its nightly Moon Revelry festivities is perhaps the most "normal" part of the area, where locals have settled down for a slice of quiet, country life. Crow's Crossing village, however, is clearly quite haunted - swings swaying by themselves, that Merchant fellow down by the Crypt, scary little Edith guarding the Well of Longing and Regret... but despite the hauntings, the living have certainly made it their home as well with a variety of festivals and places to explore. Mounrningvale is where things get extra ethereal! It's well known as a home for Ghosts and those seeking them. Sometimes Grim even stops by!
Ravenwood's Neighborhood Descriptions
Crow's Crossing
Crow's Crossing is a village founded by Moppy the Goat and rumored to be frequented by Ghosts and regular hauntings. Visit the Mysterious Merchant in the old Specter graveyard, investigate the Tarot Tome Shrine on the edge of town, explore an abandoned house, or grant a wish at the Well of Longing and Regret. Just watch out for Edith!
Crow's Crossing hosts a variety of Festivals:
- Try Before You Die Casket Sale
- Crow's Crossing Celebration of Life
- Ravenwood Family Day
Be sure to check out the Town Hall for more information.
Whispering Glen
Nestled in the rolling hills of Ravenwood's countryside, Whispering Glen offers a quiet, rural locale for those hoping to take a step away from all the local hauntings and into a slow-paced lifestyle. Steeped in ruins and rumors, it's a paradise for collectors and historians alike. Explore the local Crypt, investigate the Tarot Tome Shrine at the base of the ruins, garden in the shared community plots, or just round out a Collection.
Whispering Glen also hosts a nightly festival beside the Ancestor face cliff:
- The Moon Revelry (Clothing Optional during the Full Moon)
Mourningvale
There's something otherworldly about Mourningvale. Maybe it's the way the wind howls through the moss-draped trees, the eerie clang from the Bell Tower at odd hours, or the sentient plants. No matter the reason, many Ghosts choose to call this place home. The Grim Reaper has even been known to wander through now and then! Sims can find the Baleful Bog here, investigate the Tarot Tome Shrine by the Bell Tower, or listen to the whispers of the Guardian Tree and Alice.
Mourningvale hosts a variety of Festivals:
- Afterlife Anonymous
- Thinned Festiveil
Be sure to check out the Town Hall for more information.

Is there a limit to how many ghosts we can keep in the cemetery lot type lot? I mean since now that they are not really dead, and can be summoned.
- mitchiebanjoRising Rookie
I wonder if a sim can be reborn more than once. It would be cool to play one sim through several lifetimes.
- EgonVMSeasoned Ace
I'd guess that'd definitely be possible...
But let's see if some source says otherwise then...
- catloverplayerSeasoned Ace
We have a Ghost Bar in Ravenwood with all of the sims being ghost including the bar tenders. This is in the eternal spiritual part of the world.
- EgonVMSeasoned Ace
It seems to also be a special role for those Tarot quests, just like Pub Owner role in Henford-On-Bagley.
That would mean that this isn't a location-based career (so it'll be easy to make a replacement sim), but I'll see on the next Friday.
