Hello! Long time no posting! I'll cut right to the chase. For my best friend's snowflake ;) day present, I decided to recreate the base game Sims 2 worlds, and some of The Sims 3 worlds. I'm in the middle of my first town...Veronaville. I must say, it's been quite a difficult journey as I started in early October and it's near December. My main struggle is that the Capp and Monty family line is SO LARGE! Five generations... That's a lot of sims to create. I know she wouldn't mind just the base characters, but I care quite a lot. I'm stuck on The Danes and Scotts. Making elders and a lot of them is quite tiring! and then going in to kill them, and with how The Sims 2 is set up, most of the adults die too so I kill them in a fire, drown them, electrocute them... I get very creative. I'm not sure the point of this little rant, maybe I'm looking to find others who did the same... Although I haven't been able to find anyone. Either way, I'll be sharing this gift after Christmas to anyone who wants it. I stay true to the clothing style and the genes that the sims had. Even the hair elders had before they turned elders.Hopefully, StrangeTown and Pleasantview aren't so extensive in their family lines.

Recreating The Sims 2 base game towns really makes respect the dev team that worked on it. How much detail they added to the families alone, and the buildings that went into the towns. It's not an easy thing, and although there is no excuse to how small the sims 4 worlds are, it really makes me grateful that we have what we do in the sims 4. It could not have been easy, even for devs who know what on earth they are doing. I wish they still had that same spark. I deleted all the sims 4 families with no guilt... I couldn't do that in The Sims 2... They felt alive back then. Hopefully, I can bring that feeling to the sims 4 with this save file.

I have made quite a few of the Capps and Montys and the Summerdreams, they are on my gallery profile. I'm also working on some of the homes. It is quite a big task! I'd love to see your progress.

I have somewhat reimagined versions of the sims from TS2 Strangetown, Veronaville, and Pleasantview, some of my personal favorites from TS3 and Bustin’ Out, the old consol game, that I’ve made. I’ve considered making versions of some of their houses, but that seems like such a daunting task that I’ve put it off. I’m also not the greatest of builders and personally like to use a lot of CC, so I feel like what I’ve done/am doing is closer to a reimagining than a straight recreation. I get to “fix” certain things that didn’t make sense to me in the past, like how Jennifer Burb is Daniel Pleasant’s sister, but she looks to be of Hispanic decent while he is about as Scottish looking as any sim ever has been. It’s fun to be inspired by previous games. Makes me smile when I see names like Johnny Smith and Oberon Summerdream bopping around in my game.

Update: Pleasantview and StrangeTown is JUST as long family-wise, and I'm breaking down xD I need a team behind me to get this done before Christmas. I just need to jump in a cloner and make about five mes.

Better to stick with one town and do it well so you can be very pleased with your work than try to rush to make an artificial deadline and wind up with a half-baked mess that will either need a lot of fixing or get you discouraged. You have the rest of your life available, so why not relax and enjoy the voyage?

I’ve done this too and it is definitely a challenge. :D MC Command Center and the UI mod came in so handy for setting up all the skills, relationships etc. It’s so worth it in the end though!

Haha, thanks for all the kind comments! I'm gonna finish VeronaVille and work on Strangetown. My friend isn't a HUGE fan of PV so if I can't finish it for the 25th, I'll just have her redownload it when it's ready. Of course, I won't upload it anywhere until it's complete. Only thing is I did use Custom content, some sims 2 to sims 4 conversions of hair and aspirations, so for those who don't have those, the sims may end up walking around bald or have an aspiration that doesn't fit with what they had in the sims 2 xD
