Sims YouTubers

Is it just me or have the majority of Sims YouTubers become increasingly bland at the moment? None of them even seem to play the game anymore, majority of them seem to just be pushing out content now for their viewing figures, or they're really inactive. Nifty Knitting came out a month back and I haven't even seen any of the big sims YouTubers playing with it or making a lets play around it.

For example, Vixella and Lilsimsie used to post a variety of content but now both have posted basically nothing but build videos for the past month. Don't get me wrong build videos are enteratining sometimes but when you build the exact same 10,000 simoleon suburban style starter home every single day for a month what's the point? It's not even a challenge at that stage, it just seems like doing the minimum to keep their viewing figures up.

Steph0sims has posted one singular video since lockdown started 5 months ago, James Turner rarely posts anymore. Plumbella who I used to love, her entire channel is just twitch stream highlights and promo for her twitch channel now. Kevin is great but he only posts about the sims once a month, same with graystillplays.

It just seems like as an overall theme Sims YouTubers are getting boring and don't even care about the game anymore. I miss the days when Sims YouTubers would post lets plays and stuff like that with the game but now there's very few people that actually do that anymore. I suppose it says a lot when the people who get paid to play the game can't even come up with things to do in it
  • I love watching GrayStillPlays. Simply because I love the ridiculousness of the little challenges he creates and his commentary. It’s just a silly video that doesn’t last very long but I’m pretty much laughing the entire time.

Dr. Gluon is another person I have enjoyed content from as well. He’s such a goof and also keeps me laughing.

I’ve been stuck on James Turner’s Big Wallet series. But as someone else mentioned they do tend to get a bit boring from time to time. Hence why it’s taken me over 2 years to watch the playlist and I am still about a year behind to catch up to anything current. I still do enjoy his videos. James’ commentary also gives me a good laugh.

Besides the 3 that I listed, I haven’t been really watching any other sims videos with the exception of Carl’s breakdowns of packs and patches.
  • I normally don’t like those “every room is a different x” build videos, but Vixella just did one where every room is a different level and it’s the best thing ever.

  • I started to play TS4 seriously this year and I started to watch some Game s but now I only watch builders or some players as this guy from Indonesia who has hard to remember name. To be honest the most oś game Changers has the same content, has nothing to say, some of them sound fake, and some as Pixelade tell how The Sims 4 is bad without any constructive suggestions. What is interesting noone has any video about major gaps in buy/build mode.
  • They’ve been bland for years, after a while I turned away from watching YouTube gamers have the fun I wish I was having. And crated my own fun!
  • It’s really a matter of hunting through the main pages of yt and digging deep. I Find smaller you tubers are more dedicated at keeping viewers and building their channel. Keeping up with regular uploads etc. There’s such a range to watch and not all of them follow the clones and do the same challenges etc.
