Skin Color Patch

Okay so I was super excited to see the skin color patch come out. Now not so much. Have the developers never seen actual human skin? I have a lot of NPC's running around my world now with skin tones so red (not the literal red skin tone) that I thought they had low-key added demons or something. There are also some shades of brown that look super unnatural too. Maybe it just that the game randomly creates sims with really conflicting skin tones and hairs. A lot of new skin tones are great but my game seems to have picked the most unnatural ones and applied it to all the NPC's in my neighborhoods.

  • My Sims just had another baby. While her skin tone is just as it should be, her icon shows her as Black. That's a bit of a reversal from a previous problem, glitch, in which two very light skinned Sims suddenly had a Black baby. (Somebody in that family has some 'splainin' to do.) Now, I haven't seen that situation in quite some time, nor do I recall anybody mentioning such a problem in the past. One time after a mega-Patch, some of my Sims were all red and white. I had to start a brand new game save to fix the problem. Happily, I keep my families in My Library, so a restart isn't so challenging. But, I really get anxious when patches are announced. I do hope you can get your situation all sorted out in as little time as possible. Good luck and happy Simming!
  • The sliders have some what ruined my game temporarily. Most of my played sims that had perfect makeup before the skin tone update now look like clowns. Their makeup is all bright and looks kind of ridiculous. I have 32 played families and fixing them all is actually quite a pain.

I had a bunch of purple babies (Mother is an alien) who's icons were black.

The blusher and eyeshadow swatches are all terrible.
  • I have red sims too at times, just red townies walking around. And I went back to my cc skin tones because most of the light skin tones are horrendous, especially the cool ones. They either look like they have kidney problems or zombies.

Good. I was beginning to think maybe it was just me.
  • I think all babies have a dark skin icon currently. It's the case in all of my homes where thy have a baby - icon skin is not matching. The real thing is correct though, and skin has been corrected as I grow them up to toddlers.

OP, I agree that many skins have a way too red-ish tone to them, but I assume it's pretty easy correcting that in CAS. There are many skin tones without the red glow. Those NPCs will be a bit tougher to fix though.
  • I've recently started to experience this "brown baby but white" phenomenon.. and it only started happening with my Gen 7 kids.

My sim was tanning and its been several days since she did so, yet she hasn't lost the tan color. I was just gonna fix her in CAS but haven't done so yet. Maybe thats part of the skin tone glitch. Hope they get it fixed.
