Slay Vampire and Vampire Cure Working Anymore?

I successfully turned a vampire once before. Yesterday and today I tried to slay another vampire and throw the vampire cure, but it didn't work. I got the right reactions from her: surprise, a slump and a 'oh no' type moan. Then the black cloud effect swirled around her, but she's still a vampire. I tried this twice on her and neither attempt actually worked. It seems like its a glitch. Anyone else successful or not successful recently (after the patch)?

Edited to clarify it worked with one vampire but not with the second vampire I tried to slay.

  • I don't cure them anymore as I like them better how they were - so I have no idea. I had a Vampire slayer but then he fell in love with a Vampire so I had him give up curing them.

My vamps stay mostly in their world except visit bars and neighborhood parties, festivals and such. They are good simmies so live and let live I say. They only turn sims that want to be turned and don't seem to bother any of my non-vamp sims so doesn't seem to be an issue really anyway.

My former slayer didn't ever slay them - just cured them anyway. I know he can still make the drink, but doesn't - he likes his wife as she is. LOL. She doesn't turn him either so it's all okay.
  • One of my families the lady has had 2 vampires die on her, not her fault, they seem to keep coming out in the day. One wanted to see if they could be friends so they went to breakfast to a "beach" restaurant where the attire was beach wear and they winded up sitting in the sun and poof he died. The last one ask to come over to talk to her and she said okay but she was in the greenhouse doing some planting, he came out there and poof. The funny thing is I am not trying to kill them but they die.

Note: I do not have seasons yet.
  • I find that when you're on your home lot, the vamps are MUCH better now than on release when it comes to sunlight. To the point that one of them teleports out in the yard to take a swim and I freak out, until I realize that it's actually switched from Sunny to Cloudy. And the vamp knows that and suddenly goes outside during daytime. The ONLY thing that I have had trouble with on a home lot is if the indoor trashcan is full and the vamp has already decided (or you told it to) throw away something. The vamp WILL then empty the trash outside, regardless of weather. This is easily solved by getting the most expensive trashcan though, that never needs emptying.

They are still slower to react when on public lots, and if you have something VERY tantalizing out in the open on a public lot, they can kill themselves I think.
That said, 90% of my vamp deaths lately have been because I have not paid attention and had them "jump" to do something quick outside not noticing that i had a 10th of an inch of power left or something.
