Where does it say that this is a 9.99 stuff pack and not a free update too add onto cats and dogs? By free update I mean like the holiday stuff pack. I will wait until the trailer tomorrow before making assumptions.
The game art is green like a Stuffpack.- I would say I'm excited about this Stuffpack just cause it adds a small animal plus more pet clothing.

Yeah, there is certainly much laughter/excitement to be found in the disappointment of others.

Yes, of course. When a pack sells so well that it breaks records, it's a sad, terrible, funeral like affair, and in no way boosts the game overall, lead to potentially more resources for future packs, or anything of the sort.
Because, you know, Cats & Dogs didn't put Sims 4 on the public map again or anything. :p"drake_mccarty;c-16362511" wrote:

I'm looking forward to it. Not every home can afford or want a bigger pet like a cat or dog. Smaller pets would fit in nicely.
Would have fit nicely in the actual pets expansion. You know, the one that came out less than 4 months ago.
OTOH, people who couldn't install/run C&D (because of higher game specs or they didn't have the money) can now get a small pet (plus other stuff) for only $10. I don't mind having the small pets broken off if it means more players can enjoy them."stilljustme2;c-16363089" wrote:

This. Another factor people forget. Not everyone gets every pack. Some might not want C&D but do want smaller pets."TheGoodOldGamer;c-16363080" wrote:

What are you talking about? C&D is the best selling EP for Sims 4, but what records did it break?
The game has reportedly been doing just fine for awhile now. If EA were going to put more money into Sims 4 they aren’t going to do it after they release a highly anticipated pack that they knew would sell. If anything they saw that they could sell a pack that added the bare minimum. Barely any toys, barely any beds, dogs can’t even sleep on Sim beds, there’s a handful of interactions between sim and pet (not including the standard socials which are applicable to everyone), no small pets. Assuming they are going to put more money into this game that they have actively cut funding for is just unrealistic.- Hermitgirl7 years agoSeasoned Ace

Actually I never thought of that. That's wonderful. I was afraid myself to load in Cats and Dogs but my game seems to be running smoother than ever so.. ehh. "Sk8rblaze;c-16362550" wrote:

Sure, I'll lick the flame and rehash what you already know and ignore:
SP and EP are different teams.
SP team creates packs with items/features that the EP team (and probably GP team) has no intention of making, for any number of reasons.
Cats & Dogs is not an all-pets exclusive EP, otherwise it would've been called PETS. :|
This pack and the C&D pack were developed seperately, finished seperately, and it's highly doubtful that this new pack could've been included in the previous 4 MONTHS prior to its current completion. Do you think packs just sit around on the shelf for up to half a year awaiting release or something?
Etc, etc. On and on. The idea that this should've been in the C&D pack is hyperbole.
You could say that no Sims game ever should have dlc. It should just be basegame only. If it's not included in the base game, oh well, we shouldn't have it. Or it should be free, because you know, the gurus live on pixie dust and miracles.
They're different teams indeed, but neither is ignorant to what the other is creating. To suggest otherwise is incredibly naive, just as suggesting they couldn't find the time/budget to create some additional animations for small pets is.
Wouldn't you say, given Cats & Dogs is trimmed in focus as opposed to its spiritual predecessor (Pets), it ought to be a game pack?
Too many inconsistencies with this new model The Sims 4 introduced. It's coming off more and more as an anti-consumer money grab, for me, personally.
We got an entirely new Sim creation system along with the pack -- the process to make that pretty much requires the budget (time and money) of an EP. Unless of course we're only given a limited number or breeds, with no options for customization.
Plus, by separating out small animals from the main "pets" EP, it makes them more accessible to more players. There are players out there who couldn't buy/install C&D because their current computers didn't fit the higher specs...and not everyone can run out and buy a new computer just for a game. Others didn't want to bother with cats and dogs, but would like small animals. By separating out the small animals, those players will have the chance at playing with them without spending money on an EP that had features they didn't want, or installing a pack that's going to slow down their game."drake_mccarty;c-16363096" wrote:

What records did it break? It's the best selling pack for the Sims 4? :D Pretty sure that's a record right there. It was enough for EA and Maxis to make a big deal about it, considering how seldom they talk about sales and such for the game. I think you're underestimating the impact of it. As for the rest, you're just letting your jaded side color your words, so it's whatever.
When a pack sells well, the game it's attached to always gets a boost. Maybe it's just all profit. Maybe resources go back into the teams. Maybe the EP team gets a boost (or other incentives like bonuses in their paychecks or something). But there is an impact, somewhere. Doesn't matter if you like the pack that sold. That's just personal preference.
By extension, if the new small pet SP sells well, the SP team will undoubtedly get a boost. Who knows what that will lead to?
