Right. There are mods that function as entire expansion packs, basically. There's a mod for a resort/hotel. There's a mod to own a live in business. There's a mod to follow your sims to school and participate in classes with them; you'll even get in trouble if you use your phone/talk to another sim while in class. There's a mod that came out a few years ago that even mimicked most of Get Famous (I mean, it literally mimics it. There's a fame system, paparazzi, annoying fans, whatever). There are mods to add witches, werewolves (complete with a custom transformation), mermaids, genies, etc to your game. Lol, people even make their own stuff packs.

So, you're right. If you wanted something, there is most likely a mod for it. And the devs are fully aware of that. They know their game is going to be modded to death; there's even an official forum for it. Mods have been a part of the Sims community almost since the beginning. I wouldn't even be surprised if things are "missing" because the devs know someone else had it covered.

Point is, if you really wanted something, google search it and it's probably available somewhere. Leave the devs alone to work on something that can't just be created by some random person in their spare time.

I could say SO much about this, going on my own rant - but I will just say that I completely agree with you. I think the devs have done an AMAZING job so far, for the caliber of game they've given us. Prices are a little back and forth for me, and I do think the MFPS Stuff Pack was pretty low, but other than that I have no complaints. Games will never be perfect. We will always want more. What I love about TS4 is that we are getting to experience new things! I would LOVE a University and/or Supernatural style GP/EP, but if NOT having that meant we could get something entirely new and innovative, I'd be okay with that. As countless others, I've played the Sims since the beginning. The Sims 4 is my favorite so far.

This is starting to get long, and I don't want that lol. Just know that I'm with you! I'm glad you posted this because I feel like I'm the only one sometimes based on the threads in the forum. I like to play CC free in TS4 (unlike 2 & 3) and if you can afford (on sale or not) to buy all the packs they release, I think the game is perfect without any CC or mods.

I have also been playing the sims since the beginning, and by far sims 4 is my favorite. I have never felt the need for cc or mods with this game, as I did in previous versions. Although, I do own all the packs.

Using Mods and CC always comes with a risk. Putting anything in your game not from the official source can potentially ruin your game. I haven't seen as much of this with the Sims 4, but with Sims 3, oh yesss. I was a victim of the corrupt doll downloaded from the Sims 3 exchange. At the time I had no idea of any of the risks of downloading lots and sims with CC into my game from the exchange . I learned otherwise when my game was wonky and corrupt and I had to remove it and reinstall. I lost everything I had done and wasn't happy. I left the game vanilla (and was sometimes very frustrated) until the end of the Sims 3, when after doing research I decided that it would be safe to install a few NRASS mods to help with the things about the Sims 3 that I loathe.

There are things that I really, really love about each of the sims games that I have, as well as things that I loath or really annoy me. I do use mods and CC with the Sims 4. I find them easier to use than in the Sims 3. I have been picky and am careful about who I download from and I accept responsibility for any damage they could do to my game. I would play the Sims 4 less without them. Having said that, not everyone is willing to take the risk. I was burned badly previously so I can understand why others might be unwilling to take a risk with mods\CC and instead ask the devs to fix, change or add features to the game.

I too was burned with CC in sims 3, not only caused a corrupt game, but a corrupt computer. After getting a new laptop with sims 4 I do not use mods or CC. (I'm still too scared). But there are tons of mods out there, and if someone was so unhappy with what the Devs are doing that they are sending death threats, then just use a mod. My whole point is that people are getting too fussy lately, and need to simmer down.

@Zasz , I do backup frequently. I just within the last month got a new computer. Not backing up constantly with the old one was courting disaster (blue screen of death again arrgh). I did my due diligence with my current mods and CC. I only download from those who communicate frequently with users, respond to found issues, and update their stuff (or let you know if they can't right away). I very much like that it is easier to use mods and CC with the Sims 4. I have no judgement one way or another about this. People are free to make their own choices about it.

@Corenren , I don't like the nastiness towards the devs either. I have no problem with polite disagreement, I don't always agree with the devs either, but the level of nastiness seen lately is uncalled for.

I completely agree! I've tried out quite a few mods, but the only one I can't live without is MCCC!
