- If you really want the YA to have the exact furniture but doesn't want to just buy it from the buy catalog (and it doesn't fit in the peronal inventory) you could make a small room and place all the furniture you want the YA to have, and then upload the room to your library to then download on the new YA lot

The only problem with your suggestion is I have YET to find a way to put anything into a Sims personal inventory when it comes to furniture. Yes, they can keep their school books, their private journals and the toddlers and children can keep toys in theirs, but forget brining the TV you got for your birthday. I just tend to furnish the house my Sim is set to move into, prior to the move, then I use FreeRealEstate On to move them in. - PegasymsNew SpectatorAs usual, there's a mod for that.
If you're not opposed to using mods, Scumbumbo's Packing Crates for TS4 lets you put any furniture into a special packing crate, which can then be stored in the sim's personal inventory. It works beautifully and you can find it here: http://modthesims.info/download.php?t=557383 "NRowe;c-16664324" wrote:
{Anyone know how to tweak the family funds, so I can take some of that windfall from my YA?}
While playing the household, type 'testingcheats true' then type 'Money X' with X being the exact amount you want their household funds to be at. Their current funds will be adjusted accordingly to the exact amount you typed in once everything is done right.- moppy14wSeasoned NewcomerBeen searching and I think if I move the whole family out, and then split the parents (plus younger sibling) back into their original house, that might work. As long as I have everything I want the YA to take in the family inventory at the time of the original move?

I think this should work :)- moppy14wSeasoned NewcomerThat’s one idea I hadn’t thought of JackOnYourBack but it doesn’t actually take the furniture from the original family/inventory/house.
Thanks damagedlostbroken but GalacticGal is right; furniture doesn’t fit. I will be sure to “pack” what I can in the personal inventory though.
I’m glad you think it will work Jordyn because I’m looking to try baring any other suggestions. I could update and eat you all know. - moppy14wSeasoned NewcomerA word about attempting it by moving the whole family and moving back.
Remember to Sell Furniture when moving the whole family out the first step (I did this using the phone option in the game).
Your family inventory will remain intact, but the situated furniture will stay put awaiting your reduced family’s return. (You’ll probably need a cheat like freerealestate on)
I forgot to change to Sell Furniture when testing (thank goodness I decided to test in a new save).
I successfully spit Zoe Patel from the Roomies household with the contents of her room and then moved the three men back to their original house sans Zoe and her furniture using Manage Households.
Now to do it for realsies! - Oooh I had not thought of saving a room to the library and then re-importing it.
