- KerrybubblesSeasoned RookieMy Sims are constantly cooking and eating and it drives me mad. They get fat so easily. I brought this up a few months ago but I didn't get a reply. I don't use any mods or cc in my game and I repair my game regularly but it is still happening. I hope this can be addressed in a patch some time soon.
- I agree with everyone on this thread and I also wish that when a sim does auto-cook some food, that they would make a family portion if they have other sims living with them. So many times I'll be like, okay, time to make some food! And notice someone is already making some. Great! My sims are so smart! And then I notice they cooked only for themselves. Even though their wife and kids are starving. Such smart sims.
- One of my sim's butler kept cooking. He made about five different dishes. Some butlers don't do PLUM !! This one can't stop cooking. LOL
- I wish this was patched. I usually have to distract my Sim like ask them to shower or read a book while food is being prepped. I remember in one of the earlier games Sims used to 'Wait for Food'. Why can't we have that again?
Some of my Sims are too poor to be so wasteful on food. "halloweenchild;c-16527869" wrote:

Or cake! I've taken to just dumping the cake in the garbage after the birthday party, unless another is coming up before the cake goes bad. Otherwise they eat their cake while I'm not looking, then two hours later they're hungry again, at which point they either have to starve until they can get home from work/school and eat, or I make very sure they don't go for more cake.
I've started doing this too, same with baked sweets like the brownies and biscuits. After a birthday the cake will go into the bin, sometimes I keep the brownies, but after a while, I just end up throwing them out because it's all my sims want to eat.
Just like in RL brownies are so hard to say no too. lol"ayyitsmell;c-16527917" wrote:
These things happen to me as well. They leave uncooked food on the floor or dining tables all the time. Most annoying thing for me is trying to set the table after cooking a few meals successfully and having the other members of the household grab a plate from the platter and sit down before finishing the table. Now only 3 out of 8 members have their plates on a placemat and some of them aren't even eating the food I just made "halloweenchild;c-16527869" wrote:

Same. There could be a million options for actual meals out in front of them and they'll go for the sweets every time. My sims love to eat sweets, especially cake, for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They also love to get in front of me as I try to place birthday candles and grab a plate, forcing me to make a whole new cake during events "TS1299;c-16527602" wrote:
I'm currently still annoyed by this. Its hard to make a family dinner. I wonder how they did it on the Seasons trailer where all sims eat together.
With a lot of patience or cheats LOL
OMGosh, that drives me crazy too! So what I've started doing with families that have kids is to have one of the kids set the table while an adult is cooking. That way they pick it up and start to set the table on their own, and everyone can sit at a made table."kerryemmiebeth;c-16528851" wrote:

I think the weight gain has to do with the calories in each meal. If you sims are eating mostly high fat dishes then they will gain weight faster. But I will say - though a use a calorie and weight mod - some of my sims seem to be naturally skinny. I have one sim who has five kids, and she hasn't gained an ounce. And she don't work out regularly either. My other sim who is as thin as a rail has three children, and she hasn't gained a ounce either, but she works out like crazy. I will point out that Sim A makes all kinds of dishes for her family, and her hubby is gradually packing on the pounds. But Sims B is a vet, she cooks super healthy, and her husband is also a workout freak. Yet both of their boys are a bit chunky.
And then another sim of mine - we'll call her Sim C - after having her first child (she and the hubs have three kids now) blew up. I had her eat like normal. She mainly ate a plan based diet even though she's not a vegan or vegetarian, yet she just picked up weight. Now after baby number three, she is at least four times her pre-pregnancy weight. And her husband has put on weight too. And neither of them work out. They just don't have the time right now."IndustrialSim;c-16529086" wrote:

Now that makes sense, so far so good, however, when another family member goes to the fridge to get a portion, they don't use the microwave to heat it up...I mean who eats cold mac and cheese out of the fridge?
> It's a minor detail but eating cold meals out of the fridge annoys me. So I never make family size portions anymore, my sims make individual portions that are eaten then and there!!
Omg thats so funny, I actually never even thought of that, it honestly doesn't annoy me, it's so fun to see what other players think about stuff!
This always cracks me up. Someone made a mod form Sims 3 where you can have your sims heat up cold foods to eat. I really wish someone would do that with Sims 4."PRSJMS;c-16529115" wrote:

Yeeesssss! I would love them to tune that into the game. Like why make one dish if you have at least one or two other sims in the home?"ParmaViolet87;c-16529286" wrote:

Not 100% sure, but I think that might be in Sims 2. Sims 3 I've noticed that sometimes you have to distract other sims from grabbing food from the fridge, or they will eat that then grab the newly cooked food after eating what they took from the fridge.- That's besides the point. And it's not just breakfast. lol It's will all meals. If one sim is cooking the others should recognize that and not try to take things from the fridge, or go off and cook more food. And the first thing a sim shouldn't do in the morning is grab cake for breakfast. :D

Cake seems to be in never ending supply in my Sims house. They also eat leftovers from dinner. I dont mind them going to the fridge. My sim had macaroni cheese for breakfast yesterday. xD
That being said, I'm so glad leftovers is a thing in this game. Cooking while another is cooking is a no no. Not only that they leave chopping boards on the floor if there's no space. Then they moan and go to the fridge for ANOTHER lot of ingredients. Please Simmies just stop! Lol- Rflong7Seasoned VanguardMaybe an option for Locking the Fridge would keep Sims out while others are cooking the meal.

But if I'm hungry while my husband is cooking, I also grab a bite to eat. But okay, I try to not get filled so that he won't be cooking in vain :D
LOL Yeah but since we are actually human, we'll grab something that isn't filling. A true snack. Those silly sims will go and make a full meal just for themselves."ParmaViolet87;c-16532795" wrote:

The chopping boards on the ground for some reason cracks me up. I don't know why. But it's also frustrating. Like I wish if you cancel the action of them getting food from the fridge, that they will put the ingredients back in said fridge, instead of waiting it. In the end, I have to make my sims cook the meal, then pop it in the fridge for later use.
I have my sims do the leftover thing a lot. We do the potluck in our home once a week, and I do it for my simmies too. Also, I'll pack lunches for the kids, and have them skip breakfast so that they will actually eat their lunch.
And on a side note, I wish your sims would eat a sack lunch even if they've eaten breakfast. I think it defeats the purpose of a pack lunch if they don't eat it.

I like that idea!- Reddestiny921Seasoned VeteranHaven't really noticed I usually have whoever is the chosen cook prepare a few meals while everyone is full, sims don't want to die of hunger they'll go for food if you're not watching them and their levels are too low.
