Stopping sim buttons getting small? Help please!

Hi guys, I've noticed that once my household gets to more than about 5 sims, the buttons for the individual sims near the speed times (I'm not sure what to call it) get really small. In old games they used to stack them, so you'd have 4 sims at the top and 4 at the bottom. But now, all 8 go in a row but get really, really small and I find it really fiddly trying to click on the sim that I want, and now I never have more than 5 sims in a household, which is annoying because I have to limit the number of children and pets I have.

I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to stop this from happening and keep the sims buttons the same size? Maybe to stack them on top of each other like the old sims games? I'd rather a bit more of my screen be taken up than not be able to click on the sim that I want easily. I'm not sure if this makes sense, but if it does to someone I'd really appreciate some help! :) I don't mind mods, so if there's one that does this, that would be great too!
