Storytelling improvements 📖💔
Does anyone else wish The Sims could have a little more ‘real-life’ drama? Obviously I’m aware EA need to keep the game ‘teen friendly’ but I feel like it would improve the story-telling aspect of the game enormously if they gave us more ‘juicy’ concepts, nothing too risqué, just the kinda things we all see on TV drama’s like murder mysteries, paternity issues, scandalous affairs and conflicts over financial gain.
I’m not suggesting we actually see anything too graphic, I know there is certain mods available for that anyway, I just mean it would be cool if The Sims team pre-set a storyline to get us to figure out who the murderer was / whole stole the money etc by placing clues in the game when they released an expansion for example (even if it was too difficult for them to create tool for us to players to make these things happen themselves) it definitely would make pre-made Sims & worlds more interesting if they had pre-running storylines like Bella Goth’s disappearance (Strangetown / Pleasantview in Sims 2)
I don’t think it would be too difficult for them to add in some drama & mystery to the worlds and characters when they do an update / release a new expansion which makes them slightly more interesting even if it’s just adding some storylines.
If not / as well as, I’d also like to see more detailed reactions to life events such as infidelity etc cause all sims react the same to finding out their pregnant, being cheated on etc just adding a few more responses based on personality traits would make Sims more unique.
(Kinda like how expectant fathers will either Jump for joy if they’re family orientated or put their head in hands if they dislike children) This is a good example of how it can be done, but I wish they would add more variations to life events and make them more dramatic.
