Study about men in the sims community

Hey, I'm Dr. Zachary Palmer, a sociology professor at Texas A&M University Commerce. I've been playing The Sims since it first came out and I'm doing a fun project on men and masculinities in the sims community. I'm looking to interview men who play the sims (any version) and participate in the community (being on the forums counts!). Participants must be 18 or older and interviews will be conducted via Zoom. If you're interested, please contact me at Zachary.palmer@tamuc.edu. Thanks!

I think you'll get a lot more participation if you ask your questions here, as we do have some male players on the forum. Why not ask 3-5 questions and go from there?

Agreed. I do not feel comfortable speaking, but I do feel comfortable answering the questions by writing.
So, ask some questions to give people an idea what's to come. This does seem to be an interesting study idea after all.
  • I'd recommend posting this in the sims reddit and on twitter to cast a wider net for potential participants.

Except in the aesthetic expression of their sense of self through style. Otherwise, agreed.

Unfortunately you're not likely to get many people wanting to jump into an on-camera interview with a stranger, or even at all (unless it were job related). A typed out or fill-in survey (as others have mentioned) would work better.
  • I can post the questions, but I can only collect responses through Zoom interviews due to what has been approved by the university ethics board.
  • I'm not sure I'd want to do an interview over Zoom. I would much prefer to answer written questions in a survey.

Can't you create a survey on SurveyMonkey and post it on here?
