Taking a break from the forums...

Starting next week I guess I will have to stay off the forums and maybe even Twitter/YouTube...

I don't want to be spoiled with the new Strangerville pack!!!

Otherwise I might get a bad moodlet like sims do who get the "New TV Season Premiere" spoiled... ;)
  • Likewise, I plan to purchase the pack immediately and play through it myself whilst not going on the forums or youtube etc.

I watch quite a few simmers on youtube, and I think it will be more fun to watch their LPs after I have played through the story on my own. After all, once I know how to do everything via watching a LP, I wouldn't then want to go and do it myself.

I feel like this pack will be more of a personal thing that most would enjoy playing it through by themselves first.
  • Definitely planning on doing the same. Normally I only play for a few hours every couple of weeks and I normally rotate between saves. Would ideally like to take my time and add it into my rotations but the risk of spoilers makes me want to obsessively play through it all as quickly as possible.
  • I can understand, as entertaining as it can be to watch the "game changers" play the packs early, I have learned it can ruin it for Me and then I don't even want to play it because there is no newness to it...not watching any videos on this pack until I own it lol ♥

For me it is the first time that I am worried about spoilers. Usually packs don't have this focus on a story. And it really messes with my usual MO of getting all the available info on a pack before purchase.
Regarding the forum I was even thinking they should create a subfolder within the GP folder just for Strangerville to minimize the danger of players spoiling the story for themselves by accident.

Maybe we could flood all spoiler posts into one BIG StrangerVille spoiler megathread to keep all potential spoilers safely contained into one place? Perhaps a good idea for later, @EA_Mai ?

Same here but my question is, will I know how to start the whole process without seeing spoilers? Like, will there be some kind of tutorial of what to do?

Yeah, I'm joining you all in personal, isolated, forum blackout so that I can fully immerse and enjoy the story. I feel like we might want a few different threads available:

One for non-spoiler advice for giving hints to those with questions about moving through the story.

One for total spoilers so that those who complete the story can share discussions.

One for completely avoiding story talk but allowing for all other discussions about the pack.

And one for those who have questions about the story but don't mind spoilers so they can be answered freely.

Phew! This is going to be some careful treading! But I can't wait to start playing!
