One week of having this game, and i'm bored, annoyed and disappointed. Yes the news was broken beforehand about toddlers and pools, and I've heard that they're coming back in expansion packs, that's fine. But after playing a week of Sims 4 and finding so many other things missing, i'm starting to regret buying it. Teenagers for example; since Sims 2 we've been able to make teenage relationships, in Sims 3 playing as a teen was my favorite part, sending them to prom with a partner, there was so many interactions for teens, and not to mention the height difference. In Sims 4 i'm not even sure who is a teenager or an adult. And on another topic, vehicles! this is Sims 4 for gods sake, you can't expect us to play 2 generations of Sims then get to the most latest, and Sims just disappear at the road not even going into a vehicle. And especially coming from Sims 3 i can't even see where my Sims are going, like where they work isn't even on the map! i do like the emotions, and CAS, although apart from the demo I've only used CAS once, i like to keep with the generations, and so the focus on CAS feels pointless, i'd rather more to do once i create my Sims then have the updated CAS techniques. Coming from Sims 3 it doesn't feel dramatically updated, due to the hair colors and eyelashes having more detail in Sims 3, i don't mind the cartoon effect, however i don't appreciate the low selection of hair colors, this game was created to bring your friends into Sims correct? well i can't even give them their actual hair color due to the lack of colors and color wheel missing. The color wheel missing has also created a major impact on the Sims children, in Sims 3 once giving birth it would always mix the two hair colors, which made it feel quite realistic, now its one or the other. And on the topic of generations, seriously no family tree?!
After creating my Sims, the first thing i saw was the map, and straight away i doubted the rest of the game, 10 places to go, 2 being parks and 2 museums. Most games nowadays are all becoming open world, i don't understand how it would even be possible to think of removing that, especially when it was in Sims 3. I definitely did not receive the same feeling as i did when i went from Sims 1 to 2 then 2 to 3. I feel as though I've gone from Sims 3 to an updated version of Sims 2. Sims 3 lasted me from 2009 until now, whilst Sims 4 has lasted me one week, i know there's expansion packs to come, but from comparing the base games, it's really disappointing. Why should we waste our money on expansion packs for things that were in previous Sims BASE games.
