Right, so, I just have to speak up about this because this has always bothered me. It's not a 'omg, this is so bad' kinda thing, it's just something that doesn't make sense to me.So, what am I talking about? The winter hats, of course. And I mean the hats in the hat section that are obviously winter / cold weather hats, that don't cover the ears.I'm sitting here playing my game, redoing winter outfits and was reminded of my feelings about this when I wanted to give my sim a hat. But as a person living up in the North where winter and autumn is cold... These hats? No, honey. These hats do not do anything to protect your from the cold haha. They cover just half of yo' head and leave your ears completely exposed to freeze. And believe me, the ears do freeze and it's just as important to keep 'em warm as it is your head.So my feedback to this would be to make the hats better, or add more realistic hats. In the future, make the winter hats cover the ears because these are unwearable to me and it's a shame since I love the design. They sit on top of the head and not actually on the head.Happy to hear anyone else's opinion or if it's just me who think these hats do not fullfill their purposes.

They look like they should be a toque (or beanie depending where you are from) and yet I have NEVER in my whole life, worn one like that, or seen anyone wear one like that. If they don't cover the whole ears, at least partial ears. The only time I can make these hats work on a sim is if their hair style covers the ears and I can kind of pretend they're not as ridiculous. I'm also from Northern Canada, so what do I know about these things? Maybe this is how they wear them in California when the weather gets breezy? :D

Yes, it bothers me too (and I'm also a northern person ?). These hats sit so stupidly. Beanie hat does not cover the ears too, but at least it looks more natural. Not very good in freezing weather, of course.Why can't we have some earflap hats? Kids have some, but adults need to protect their ears too!But I have a problem with winter clothes in general. They are either ugly (in my opinion) or not really protective. Not a single down jacket that covers your booty. You have to keep it warm! No wonder sims freeze so easily.

It seriously irks me, like, it's such a small part of the game but I want my sims to have warm hats for winter but they are useless :s and they look ridiculous. If a miracle strikes and some Dev sees this or something, I'd be super happy to get a winter hat overhaul or at least new hats that make sense.

I hate these hats! They're the eyeball ring of headwear. I want my sims to be able to wear these hats so bad because I think they could be really cute with certain outfits but they always look kind of off.... like our sims wont pull them down over their ears so the hat is just kind of sitting on top of their head. The baseball cap type of hats have the same weird look. The only hats I end up using are the sun hats with the wide brim

As someone who is from California, I can tell you that's probably why lol. I think I saw snow that was actually snow (Meaning quite a few inches that stuck around for a few days) maybe like a couple of times as a kid in the 90's. That being said, now that I'm older, I've seen and felt real snow from up north when I visited family and it's no joke how flipping cold it gets and what you need to wear. I think sometimes the devs forget that there are so many players that come from all around the world and when it comes to a lot of chosen styles for the weather I think they should have really done their research. Luckily, there are many CC creators who make earmuffs and other proper headgear for the cold, but I really think they should revamp them for those who don't want to put CC in their game. As others have mentioned hats can be weird in general and I think a lot of older content should be revisited and updated. At least once the game has come to a closing.

Those 'hats' are useless! Where I live cold is the dominant weather so know first hand the need for protecting ears - which freeze very easily but take a long time to thaw and longer to stop hurting. While we're at it, how about some decent cold weather gloves/mittens? What we have as options look too much like colored dainties for wearing at afternoon tea.
