Townie is Weirdo Question

I want to turn my designated Landlord into a playable character. Do they have a special is "weirdo" trait that keeps them from aging? I had a list a while back but I cannot find it.

  • I've never seen a Landlord in my game who also roams around in the city doing really weird things, but who knows that it may happen. In any case a Landlord is always generated separately from the CL Weirdos as far as the game is concerned. Plus if you do play the Landlord, just know that they will no longer be your landlord and if they had the weirdo trait they would no longer be one once you play them. I know from experience since I discovered 2 immortal weirdos who I now play have begun aging since I started playing them.
  • Within the limitations of what paradiseplanet said, you can just shift click on them with testingcheats on and add them to your family, then use manage worlds to move him/her out on their own.
  • Do the landlords get replaced with a new one after the old one becomes a family member? In one save the landlord is quite cute and one of my Sims there has taken a shine to him. I am planning on having him move in but I have been a bit vary.

The game will pretty much always generate a new service npc...it's pretty hard to even stop it from doing it.
  • Yeah, if you add a Landlord, or any of the NPC careers, to your household, they lose the career and a new NPC is generated to fill that role in the game.

The hidden traits for Landlords are:

    traits.equip_trait trait_isRepair

    traits.equip_trait trait_Hidden_Landlord

    careers.add_career career_Adult_NPC_Landlord

I have never tried adding those traits to a Sim I was playing. I dunno if it would blow up the game, lol. If you try it, I would recommend doing it in a Test Save and see what happens. ;)

The hidden weirdo trait is a totally different designation. That is applied to the Sims that wander around the City later in the evening and are wearing even weirder attire than the rest of the walkbys. :p But I do think both of these traits do make the Sims immortal.

Hmm, idk but it's a hit and miss with those traits really. I've had more than a few city weirdos be immortal, but I don't start noticing them until it's been a generation or two later and they still look young as ever. The same is also true sometimes for registered food stall vendors as well. As for city repairmen and landlords, I've only seen them gradually age and die for me. I guess becoming one with the city makes you immortal!

Ahh ok so I think there is a way to remove the trait. I think @rosemow told me how a while back. I tried to find the old conversation but couldn't.

Yes, the trait should be removed by the game if you add the Sim to your household.

Oh, the landlords and repairmen aren't immortal? I see, good to know. :)
  • Hello
If your sim has the isWeirdo trait, try doing this. Play as the sim. Then type into the cheat bar
    testingcheats true
    Press enter
    Then type in
    traits.remove_trait isWeirdo
    Press enter

    See if that helps.
isWeirdo can be replaced in the removal cheat with isCityRepair or isStatueBusker if that is the hidden trait that they have.

  • Thank you @rosemow :) for the cheat. I couldn't remember but I remembered you helped me out before with this issue.

Thank you everyone for all the help :)

@"Livin in Sim" Thanks for the list of traits that are attached to the landlord. What is the cheat to check the hidden traits? I want to make sure they are gone when I move her into her own apartment.
