Ultimate Gallery Pet Peeve

I really hate the massive amount of obvious cc in some gallery sims. I’m also getting tired of seeing all the pregnant teenagers, since those are also impossible in an unmodded game.

Yeah finding sims with No CC in the gallery is a chore. Its almost easier to make my own families lmao

Yes, all of these, unrelated hashtags, poses used for households, totally useless garages and cars on lots, excessive cc/modded sims, I have downloaded sims that were so cc laden they just showed as a black outline with eye holes in my game.

I can't build and my CAS creations are rubbish too, so I depend on the gallery, but it's getting harder to find what I want due to these things.

The poses and CC is very frustrating. I dont use any mods or CC in any of mine and never did in any of the sims games

Yes more filters would be nice. I would love one that would allow me to filter for furnished/unfurnished. I at least wish people would write Unfurnished in the header bar/description.

This is probably my biggest pet peeve finding a gorgeous on the outside family starter (I prefer starter houses that allow at least 1-2 generations of family living before the need for a major remodel or move sets in) only to realize that it's already at the 20K mark and it's not furnished. Other annoyances is people who do furnish/decorate/landscape their houses and then leave off things like stairs or even doors to keep it under that 20K mark...

People named some great ones here that I agree with.

My own addition would be finding some gorgeous, spooky, Victorian or Vampire builds that, for some reason, have these floofy child/baby rooms in them and the darn playground in the yard. It kind of ruins the theme of the place and I have to spend time renovating it to be consistent and child-free. But I can't really complain too much because I really do appreciate what these builders can accomplish and I'm not very good at building myself. :p

My pet peeve with the Gallery is seeing the same sims or house creations over and over again with the very slim difference of color, terrain etc. Because of this I try to avoid the Gallery like a plague.

This is my main pet peeve. Having options for the number of bedrooms and bathrooms you want should have been a given. It seems nearly everything about this game is half-baked.

What I find annoying is that some people feel the need to showcase their newest creation 10 times in a row - it totally clutters up my feed and has no use whatsoever. So I tend to unfollow the creators that do that.

That said, one way to avoid searching through the Gallery is to start following people who make things to your liking. So if you finally found your perfect house or Sim, don't just download it and/or favourite it. Go check out the creators other uploads. If you see more things that you like and if you, based on that, feel like can trust on them to not use CC/poses/upload untested lots/use the wrong hashtags (or whatever is bothering you) - then follow them. You'll get a notification on your feed the next time they upload something so you can check it out. You may not want to use that particular thing at that time, but you can relatively easily track it down later. And if they later on do something that does bother you or don't upload the things you like anymore, you can just unfollow them. Of course you're gonna have to track down reliable creators who's style you like, but once you find them, it'll save you a lot of effort the next time you're looking for something. Maybe you can even send in a request - if you can track them down on the forums or on social media.

Debug mode clutter. Sure, it looks fantastic, and adds realism - but the second you take the house into Live mode, the clutter turns into a glitchy, partially-disappearing mess that confuses the AI.

And if I'm allowed to list two - un-playtested builds. As I implied above, I love cluttered, busy, visually interesting homes. However, it feels like 90% of the popular homes in this style on the gallery have routing issues galore and far too many unusable objects. It's frustrating to have to test the houses myself, and remodel half of the interior just because the original creator couldn't be bothered.
