Sooo giving the unlucky chef scenario a go since we had so much fun with the no skills and plant a sim one :) https://i.imgur.com/nv2Ly6x.png
My sim I will be using is fresh out of cas (no skills) and her name is Kiana. https://i.imgur.com/ZTwyetU.png
Kiana lives in San Sequoia on the Parkside place lot (I did remove the quakes challenge) https://i.imgur.com/1gZ09da.png
I am going to start this soon, just need to make dinner for my real family (hopefully I won't burn down the house like my sim might LOL) I think the first thing I will do is see if I can afford a smoke detector and sprinkler system, but will update soon once I play a bit ;)

@Solomutt Hey, congrats on having an accidental unlucky chef! Did Jericho have the fear of fire, and if so did he manage to overcome it?
It was the day before Winterfest, and Kevin doesn't work on Tuesdays, so he was hard at work at home making holiday tiramisu to sell. He took a break to fix himself some lunch, and maxed his cooking skill!
They decided to go into the karaoke bar for a quieter conversation. "Wow, it's completely dead in here! Everyone must be out at the event. I love it," said Mayumi. https://i.postimg.cc/W4JYJkJd/06-02-23-8-47-23-PM.png
And then Kevin tried to say goodbye, but Mayumi wasn't quite getting the message.
Eventually he gave up and let her tag along home with him.
This had not been the plan. He was supposed to be moved into a nicer house before this moment came. Also, he was exhausted and sweaty, and truly just wanted a shower and sleep.
That was okay because Kevin and Zoe had a chance for a conversation they'd never really gotten to have around the end of their relationship. They're doing better now. https://i.postimg.cc/9FMp776c/06-04-23-12-55-12-PM.png
@Solomutt it sounds like you had the fear of fire, to stop the fire's from happening, you will have to cancel out the Fire panic action and then click on the fire and tell your sim to extinguish it. Once they have extinguished it then the fires will stop if cooking skill is high enough ;) But as a bonus that could have been good practice to try out the scenario for the unlucky chef :D
@mightysprite congratulations to Kevin on maxing his cooking skills. Mayumi and Kevin are so cute together, they both like the same things as well <3 Oooh go Kevin, thinking of wedding rings while kissing :D Awww they are boyfriend and girlfriend. Hahaha that is a typical male sim reaction after woohoo. Mayumi is insisting on seeing his old place first LOL. Oh Zoe :o Ok perhaps if they depart on good terms now she will distance herself more. Oh my gosh the real question is hillarious, won't spoil it for others, but it is super hillarious :D

It's funny because I was getting annoyed at how many fires he started when he was maxed in culinary skills and career. After he put out the last fire he started he's had no more fires.
It's too bad I didn't notice that until he was an elder. He doesn't have much time left to cook without setting the kitchen ablaze.
aww atleast you solved the fire issue in his last years. Now he can cook in peace before he has to rest in peace <3
He's not Father Winter, but he and the dancing lady made Kevin and Mayumi feel that they had been blessed with the presence of a Christmas elf and a Santa Claus on this night. https://i.postimg.cc/J4Tv5HLr/06-05-23-9-39-47-AM.png
Kevin talked over his fears of death with the elf. She told him how she likes to find joy in every single day, and if you do that, then even the prospect of death isn't so scary. Kevin didn't completely understand, but she sure seemed joyful, and he did feel better. https://i.postimg.cc/vZcjq8YW/06-05-23-9-42-09-AM.png
@mightysprite Oh my gosh that is going to be a wet Christmas. mmm these two are talking about marriage any time there is an opportunity LOL. So glad Kevin overcome his fear. It may return, but now you know who to call up and talk to them about it (if they are still alive) Great update. Kevin is doing real well and his table sales are so good.
The day after Winterfest, Kevin dropped by Zoe's house before work to meet her new son Wesley. He was a sweet kid. They watched cartoons. It was nice to see Zoe happy.
"Well, it's not beautiful. And it doesn't really suit you, does it? I mean, you're going to be a celebrity chef, and this looks more like the kind of place a fast food manager would live in. ...Oops, did I say something wrong?" https://i.postimg.cc/nztTMbfw/06-05-23-10-07-28-AM.png
Kevin's heart sank. He was already feeling tense from work and it was all he could do not to snap at her.
"Do you want to see one other house today?" she asked. Kevin agreed.
It was a Spanish Revival style house with beautifully tiled floors and a big yard. (This started out as "The Cordes Shell" on the gallery, created by macthekat82.) https://i.postimg.cc/MTb5QPWZ/06-05-23-10-10-21-AM.png
Kevin gave Mayumi a belated Winterfest present of an easel, and she gave him a microwave and an ice cream maker. "So you won't set anything on fire," she said happily. https://i.postimg.cc/90mptdMd/06-05-23-11-33-30-AM.png
"That's thoughtful. This oven looks like a deathtrap," said Kevin. "Of course that's what I meant!" said Mayumi. "Nothing about your cooking abilities at all..." https://i.postimg.cc/sxTJnMQt/06-05-23-11-34-49-AM.png
Mayumi wanted the big balcony to be a place where she could be alone, paint, do her homework, and think. Kevin had thought it would be a party deck. "You have the rest of the house to have parties in," she said, reasonably. So the deck is now Mayumi-land https://i.postimg.cc/3Jw1kFz7/06-05-23-11-46-47-AM.png
@mightysprite congratulations to Kevin on completing his chef aspiration :) Oooh plot twister I did not know that Zoe had a kid. Great that they get along though ;) Oh my gosh Mayumi !!! A food manager house, gosh girl give the guy a break. Kevin I think the house is beautiful, love the lattice fencing in the front. I get that Mayumi and Kevin bought the house together and it is all romantic and so on, but I have this weird little dissapointment that she did not like the original house he worked so hard for. Oh my goodness Mayumi is really a I want type of person, a whole party deck to herself, she better change her attitude soon. Seems a bit pushy I think. All I can say about the end of this update is that if Mayumi is ill for reasons besides the fruitcake then she needs to have a change of heart of how she is treating poor Kevin. Sorry if I am getting to involved in your story line, but Kevin is a hardworking lovely sim and she is just a little too pushy for my likes right now ;)
Hey @mcrudd , always happy to have people getting involved in the story and rooting for one character or another :)
I feel like Mayumi and Kevin are both people with strong fixed ideas about how they want life to be, and they haven't necessarily learned yet how to communicate and compromise. Kevin is an Overachiever who's got a strong career goal. Mayumi is a Loner and Socially Awkward. She's charming, but she is tone-deaf sometimes. Plus, she really does need her alone space and time, while Kevin needs to socialize. Don't forget, Kevin planned and worked hard for that one house and built up a plan to invite Mayumi to live there with him, but he never asked Mayumi how she felt about this plan or if she had any plans of her own, until he was just about to buy the place for the two of them. I think this moment is a wake-up call for them both.
