But yeah, it seems like they seriously nerfed the break-ins to deal with the people who hate supernaturals but bought the pack anyway. They also did that to alien abductions.
I have, unfortunately, done the thing with researching vampire lore, and the most it got was that text from vlad, but being visited? No..apparently one needs an appointment or something. It makes me wish there would be vampires in Sims5 that aren't nerfed as you say, and then a toggle for their behavior so that those who just bought them for the items can happily have defanged vampires that never bother anyone, but those of us who want vampires, get real ones. It's so pathetic. Stinks that this is just how it's gonna be.
