It's almost a rip-off. I expect three things to happen for those who bought this EP:
- Some people will say it was a waste of money, it was short and anti-climatic and will be bored to death.
- Some people will enjoy it, mainly for the town and other little extras.

And some people will enjoy it for the whole package. The mystery, the town, the career, the build/buy, the CAS, the interactive objects, and all the new possibilities. :)
I'm one of those simmers. It's not all about the mystery. It's about how this content fits in to my overall save and the sims/world I've created since 2014. How it adds to that whole. And this does! For me and my sim world.
I didn't spend $30 for the RPG bit game within it. I spent it because of the conspiracy, the overall feel of the world, and the weird things happening that I WANT in my game.
Same here -- the theme isn't exactly to my liking but I got it mainly for the new world, new objects (I can see future criminal Sims using the the bugs and listening devices for blackmail material, and I've already remodeled one gym to include the sparring dummies), and the Military career (the WFH type careers are my favorites). I'm still working through the mystery in one save; in my main save I used the cheats to end it because my main focus there is my actor and I didn't want to be distracted. YMMV. (I do want to do some remodeling on those houses though -- they're pretty sparse and bland in decoration like many Maxis houses tend to be).
