Hi, I am just trying out sims 4 and today is my last trial day. Will buy just because I have all the other sims. But since new still trying to learn everything and when I go into create a sim I can't find the sims I downloaded. How do I get to them and were are they? It took me a while also to learn that buy catalog was under build, (crazy). Can't wait to have my first toddler as that is the biggest reason I never went for sims 4 at the start. Any way please help and all tips welcome.

Sorry the life part of that sentence was an accidentally typo (I was replying on my phone lol). Your library is where all your sims and lots that are local to your game are stored. Like when you go into CAS and you make a new sim and save it it goes into your library. That's where everything in your Tray file will be located. The Gallery is where you can go to download other people's creation and add them to your game. You can also upload anything from your library to your profile on the gallery. Anything that you've actually uploaded to the gallery will still be there even if your game crashes and you loose everything so some people use it as a cloud back up for their library since the stuff in your library is localized to only your computer so if your game every gets wiped you'll loose everything there.

Sims gotten from the gallery will be placed right into your ingame library.

Sims downloaded from an outside source need to be placed in the Tray folder. Not the Downloads folder that’s For CC and mods. Tray is for library/gallery related stuff so Sims and Lots. If you get far enough that you want to add Saves to your game (Sims 4’s equivalent to Worlds) they’ll go into the Saves folder.

Once you add it to your Tray folder any sims (or lots) will be in your ingame library.

Thanks 3KNPen I have found lots in there that I downloaded, but non of the sims. I have not checked since my last download, but will soon.

If you have CC or mods you might need to check include custom content under advanced. The gallery automatically hides this from you.. even your library.

I had a hard time finding my downloaded sims as well. I download mines from sims resource and other websites. If you have a lot of sims and/or lots in your gallery, you will have to take the time to search the entire gallery for your sims. If using downloads from the sims resource, search your gallery under user name "Codex". That should pull up some sims resource sim downloads. Also, it seems the gallery sorts downloaded cc sims by "their" creation date, rather than "your" download date. Before downloading your sims, pay attention to the date the sim was posted. I hope that helps.
