Teens are a bit of a mess to me. They look 16-19, but their sexual activity restriction of "Mess Around" make them 13-15. Obviously, if they had proper woohoo options it should be restricted to their own age bracket.
Young Adults 18-35~40 (18 and 19 year olds are both teens and young adults. Also, there are plenty of adults that still have a very youthful "young adult" look even though their actual age should place them in the "older" adult bracket.)
Adults 30~35-55~60 (There's plenty of young people that already look old before their actual years)
Elder 65-death (Although the game doesn't really allow for an old elder 80-100+ look in my opinion.) - Babies 0 - 1
Toddlers 2 - 4
Child 6- 10
Teen 14 - 17
YA 18 - 35
Adult 35 - 65
Elder 65+
The life stages don't perfectly match real life and I'm okay with that. I know some people want a preteen life stage, but I don't find that very interesting to be honest. - Babies - 12 months
Toddlers - 2 to 5 years
Children - 6 to 12 (I imagine the preteen years to be between 10 and 12)
Teens - technically, 13 to 19 hence the word "teen"
YA - 20 to 40
Adult - 40 to 60
Elder - 60+ - I answered a thread like this once, but can't find it for the life of me. I'll try my best to replicate my answer.

It still annoys me how we have so many gaps missing from the younger stages. - Stina1701A6 years agoSeasoned AceBabies 0 to 1 year.
Toddlers from 1&1/2-2 to 5ish
Children 6-11 ish to 12
Teens 13 to 18
YAs 18 to 30
Adults 31 to 60
Elders 61 and of course up.
But considering how old the elders actually look and behave (walking and can't over excert themselves) I feel there should be an age stage between the adult and elder to represent 50 to 70. That way the elder can be 70-75 and up. - Babykittyjade6 years agoSeasoned AceInteresting question because I often wonder how old they are "really" suppose to be. But I also like how it's left up to the imagination.
I think kids were ment to be on the older side because I have a hard time trying to make them look younger. Then again I can't really make them look older either. I think because of their limited options I find they are all stuck in the same age range look and all kids kind of look the same? I could not successfully give them soon to be teenager sort of look nor a 6 year old, just came from toddlerhood kind of look.
So these are the ages I think the average sim looks normally. But I work hard in CAS to try to get more varying age looks out of each category.
Babies 0 - 12months
Toddlers 4 - 5
Child 9- 11
Teen 16 - 18 (they can look even older to me)
YA 18 - 25
Adult 25 - 50
Elder 50+
But I think elders don't look old enough to me. And they need an (optional) cane. They are too close to adults. - GalacticGal6 years agoLegendBabies = newborn to 1 year
Toddlers = 2-4
Child = 5 to 12
Teen = 13-19 (but this is where it goes fuzzy to me. In my country, USA, 18-year-olds are considered adults as in they can sign contracts
and get married without parental consent.)
YA = 20 to 35 (in my game a YA is actually 18)
A = 36 to 64 (also known as middle age)
Elder = 65+
I base elder on 65 because again, in the USA a person who reaches 65 is then eligible for Social Security (retirement) and Medicare. I hit the big 65 in a couple of days. But trust me, I don't feel 'old', not for a minute. I just wish the game wouldn't automatically make an Elder stooped over and with a full head of gray hair. Some of us are going (as in not even there, yet) white. ;)
@Babykittyjade I do hope when you reach the age of 50, you won't feel or even look like an elder. It all depends on your genes. I'm turning 65 in just a couple of days and I don't walk stooped over and my hair is still primarily red as in my avatar. Yes, I have some white streaks, but they're mostly underneath so they aren't really seen all that much. ;) But, I've got great genes, too. My late mother didn't look 80 before Alzheimer's started to have its way with her. Then she aged rapidly and died not long afterward. :'( But, she walked as straight as she always did. None of this stooped over nonsense.
ETA: A word of caution, don't be telling a 5-year-old they're a toddler, either. :open_mouth: They have usually mastered the 'art' of walking by then and they will likely insist they are a big kid, now. I wouldn't want you to suffer the wrath of such a misstep on your part. (Duck and take cover!) ;) - LiELF6 years agoLegendBabies - Newborn to 1 year

They're no longer a child, but they're not a teen yet, either. It's actually a very difficult and interesting time of life. Trust me, I was a Girl Scout leader for five years, two of which were over a Junior Girl Scout troop the age I just mentioned. A great deal of arms crossed over their chests and toe-tapping as they ranted about their 'best friend' and her latest misdeed. Moments later you'd never know they were at odds with one another. LOL Sometimes weight is gained. Some even break out with pimples all over their faces. They cry, they rant, they stomp their feet (and in some cases resemble a two-year-old, in their behavior.) Now, if they could give us these Pre-teens that would be great.
