If you complete the Fabulously Wealthy aspiration, you get the "shrewd" trait, which earns your sims 5% interest every week on household funds. This is an excellent source of passive income, so I always try to have a household sim complete that aspiration.
  • A few things just off the top of my head...

A small one, but if you have a lot trait space available, the penny pixies one allows your sims to pick up spare cash around the house randomly. It isn't large amounts though.

Writing and publishing books, whether it is a career or a side hustle, earns daily royalties.

Breeding frogs. Not sure if it counts as "passive" - it is effort on your part, but not your sims. I currently have 2 of the same frog, worth $125, and every 4 or 5 sim hours (whenever the cooldown expires) i pause my game and have each family member breed them. I sell all but 2, and in a family of 5, every breeding session gives me $625, and that is like 6 times a day. Very easy money if you dont mind keeping up on it!
