It's probably more a case of using quite simple graphics compared to other dx9 titles:
The reason it performs better than TS3 is the relatively small (let's face it, tiny) size of its "zones", where the data that needs to be loaded into RAM/VRAM and requires processing by the CPU/GPU is a fraction of what it was in TS3's open neighborhoods.
They made concessions because the engine couldn't handle what they were throwing at it.
They can, but not all of them do. GTAV and The Witcher 3, for instance, perform very well even on mid-range systems. "OEII1001;c-15933916" wrote:

Well Bethesda's Creation Engine, which is obviously notorious for both issues, is over a decade old and pretty much straight trash at this point.
But both games I mentioned have no such issues that I've experienced. It can be done and it can be done well.
Anyway, I'll stop hijacking the thread now.- I wish I could play a bit higher graphics, but my computer would lag out severely, lol. I play with custom, with more details on sims.

As with Gamebryo and Bethesda's proprietary version of Gamebryo, the problem always comes down to objects in the open world.
That Witcher 3 post amounts to a one-reply thread in which the individual replying saw no such issue. So it's safe to say that's a pretty isolated problem specific to the user who made the post.
In terms of relevant search results for save bloat, Google only returned the link you provided for either game (GTAV or TW3)--at least in the two or three pages I dug through. The point is, if it were a common problem, as it is with Bethesda's games, you wouldn't have to look so hard for a result.
I'll just assume the second link was meant for educational purposes.- Karababy52New SpectatorUltra! Oh yeah! \o/ Say that again Karen. Okay, ULTRA!
Please forgive my over-the-top giddiness, but man, it sure feels so good to be able to say that now. I've finally realized the dream I've had since The Sims first came out in 2000, playing on a proper gaming desktop. I never had until September of last year when my old laptop finally gave up the ghost and Hubby bought me this computer for our 34th Wedding Anniversary. I'm a very lucky lady! <3 *tears of joy and wonder* - I am medium with the laptop mode off - still think the game looks pretty!
- Ultra.

Somehow my graphics change from ultra to custom when I chose "post processing effects". Anyone knows why???
You're attempting to modify a preset graphics setting. - Ultra, but again, I play on 1680x1050 . I'm considering to lower some parameters.
- I go back and forth from custom to ultra. I like custom because I dont like post processing too much.
Love my gaming laptop. Never going the desktop route :-)
