What Happened to my Butler?? Need Help Please.

I'm really not sure and would be interested in the answer to this as well. It happens fairly often in my game too. Usually, it coincides with my sims getting to know/becoming friends with them. I think I just assumed after you get to a certain friendship level the game trades them out for whatever reason but that doesn't make much sense?

@NRowe I have seen this happen as well. Try canceling and re-hiring the butler service. Also maybe try deleting the new butler. Last time this happened to me, I did a "save as" so I could try different things to fix it without risking losing the original butler.

I've had this problem in the past. I had the very first really reliable and helpful Butler and suddenly he was gone from the household. :open_mouth: In walks a female Butler and the youngest kid, a Toddler, discerns she is evil. Well, who on Earth wants a evil Sim around their precious little ones, I ask you? At one point I saw what I believed was the former Butler in town. If memory serves he was wearing a Hawaiian print shirt. I reassigned the bed for the new Butler and then she was gone after only a few days. In walked the first Butler, so I quickly reassigned the bed again. LOL I came to realize Butler number one, simply had a few days off, and why not, right? Before you hit the panic button, this change may only be temporary. Unless you hover over the Butler to learn he's X amount of days old with no bonus days left, that is. I lost Miha to old age, fairy recently. It was body blow to the family, but Erik and his wife soldiered through, and you know what? They are still afloat. LOL

I've had this problem as well. I finally had the perfect butler, and three times now he's just been replaced without warning. So. I go into manage worlds, add him to the new butler's household, then delete the new butler.

When I go back to my save, my preferred butler is back in place. Oh, and my butler now has like §100,000 for all the times I've combined his household.

I'm mot sure why this happens. A butler is supposed to be attached to a single household. Every household that has a butler gets a different unique one. You can customize a Sim as a butler then release him/her back into NPC realm, (unplayed-out of world). You will need to add the butler hidden trait, of course. Usually when the next time a household hires a butler, that is who it will be. (You should do this right away) However the game does spawn random ones that you may have to delete a few times before you get the butler you want.

Another thing that may happen is another household that has a butler may lose that butler for whatever reason, so they steal the butler from the original household. I haven't tested this yet, but I would think go and fire the butler in the other household then hire one in the original and it should be the one you had for awhile. (If random ones appear, then as usual, just keep deleting them until he/she is back)

This has happened to me a lot! The first time I thought it was funny, and as I was thinking of firing the current butler I didn't mind, but now it happens every few days. I've found that forcing the new one to leave (mcc cheat) will bring in a different butler, usually my old one. Sometimes though, I need to fire the new butler and restart the service, then my old butler (usually) shows up. I've managed to keep Dolly for quite some time that way, but it does take some work.

Even the butlers get days off :) Other butlers sub for them on those days.
