When do you start playing a new sim?

I play rotationally and I don’t really have any rules on when I rotate. I switch when I get bored, sometimes I wait until they hit certain milestones. And I’m constantly getting ideas for new sims I want to make so I frequently add new sims to the save. And sometimes if I get really tired of a household and don’t see myself wanting to play them again I just mark them as unplayed and they become townies in my save.

From September 2014 to March 2020. I only played one game save of a mix of households who where mostly singles & couples. Then in April 2020, I began to make different timeline game saves which are;
Prehistoric-Biblical/Mythical, Ancient-Dark Ages, Medieval-Renissance, Georgian-Ragtime, Roaring 20s-Awesome 80s, Futuristic-Beyond for my different timeline households. <3
Also, in November 2020 I started my first Legacy Challenge of Snow White.
I now have a combination of Adam & Eve's Legacy, Snow White's continuing Legacy, Fairy Tale households, Multiple Cultures, Superheroes, SiFi households & my Doctor Who Legacy (he's his own Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather & so on...) Lol. :p

Then when I do finally get bored for a little while, I just go play my Sims 3 & Civilization VI. ;)

Whenever I feel like it. I have sims I've created who have never been played, and others who get played quite often and moved to different worlds to explore. I like to feel inspired when I start a new sim, and I'll decide pretty quickly if they are going to work out or if they'll just become a background sim, waiting for the right moment to step into the limelight. Or to fade into the twilight, rarely seen as anything other than a random townie.

I play multiple households with multiple stories in one save and i don't often get to the end of story so tbh i never have enough of a sim

unless i plot their early demise to spice up my story in which case they still might get to be a cool ghost tho

actually i think ive only gotten rid of bjergsens so far in this save but thats because i have sworn war upon them for being too... bjergsenly

oh and that travis dude i don't think i have his ghost either poor guy

I play rotationally but also after I feel their story has been told and just when I feel like it.

In the legacy I'm playing, I switched to the oldest Cole child after both his parents retired. Unfortunately both parents have now since passed away. Ryan's father handed over his business, Cole, Inc*, to his oldest son Ryan. Ryan runs the Willow Creek branch while his brother Dylan, actually took their father's place in the main office in Oasis Springs.
Ryan is the eldest of six- now five, will explain in a minute- kids and he has three of his own.

Ryan's three youngest siblings, Hadley, Cyrus, and Asher, were triplets. Sadly Asher passed away as a young adult because he froze to death and Death denied his revival.

* It's actually a library I got off the gallery. But it's really cute, IMO.

ETA: I started this particular save in November 2021 and moved it to my new PC once I got an external hard drive. I got a new PC right before Christmas but couldn't set it up until I could get the external hard drive to move what I wanted to move to the new PC.

I do heavy rotational play, and I usually only play each household for like 5-15 minutes--for these reasons, it's hard to get tired of them

I play rotationally on a schedule but when I get tired of a certain family or sim that I'm on, I just take a break from playing and eventually go back to them. I stick to my schedule and give them the 2 weeks they deserve because I love them. <3

TS4 toddlers drive me up a wall! I don't have the endurance to make it to childhood, so out I go and try again.
