Out of curiosity, what about Seasons makes you regret buying it? I only have GTW and IL now. Wanting more packs but looking for reasons why/why not a pack is worth it before buying more.
Well, my reasons may not apply to you or apparently to anyone else, but I'll give you my personal rant since you asked for it. ;)
In real life, I live in a place where it never snows or gets really hot, so the extreme temperatures feel weird to start with.
I hate that Sims can't enjoy the various weathers: They don't simply accept the rain, they use an umbrella to hide from it. They freak out in blizzards or thunderstorms. They can literally die in extreme temperatures. In real life, it rains a good amount, so I walk in the rain all the time and don't even consider an umbrella. In the game, even a dehydrated mermaid has to hold an umbrella to protect herself from getting wet.
I like to have my Sims wear pretty much the same thing all the time. Seasons adds two more categories where I have to manually create the same outfit again, and without CC or deactivating weather effects on Sims, wearing the same outfit all the time can kill them.
The holidays in my game are buggy. Sometimes two Sims do the exact same holiday activities, and one will have had a fabulous holiday, while the other one was miserable. It's not based on personal traits as far as I can tell, because all of the boxes are checked for both Sims.
The holiday activities are very secular and materialistic for the most part (like watching television or buying stuff), and the random holidays don't coincide with my value system. For example, there are holidays based on gambling (the lottery), fighting, and pranking, but none based on kindness or hugging or even singing or reading. I was excited about creating holidays that coincide with my spiritual beliefs, but it didn't really work the way I thought it would. And you can't have one household celebrate a certain holiday while another celebrates a different one. It's all or nothing.
There are too few EA hot weather or cold weather outfits, so without CC you would see Sims wearing the same outfits all the time.
Holidays cycle too quickly for my personal tastes. The cycle feels rushed even on the longest setting. They feel less special to me because they happen all the time.
On the plus side, I really enjoy the interactions with the gnomes during the fall holiday... I think it's called Harvestfest, but I changed the names of most of my holidays, so I'm not 100% sure. My main Sim family appreciates the riches bestowed on them by their Gnomish benefactors, lol.
I think it's cute when my Sims sing holiday songs together, although it's weird that they sound like real ones, because singing "Happy Birthday" or something in Simlish doesn't work very well with a solemn spiritual holiday.
Having Seasons gives Sims the ability to talk about the weather, and it's always nice to have another conversational topic.
So, there's my rant. I hope you're not sorry you asked!
You are lucky to live in a place that has no extreme weather, here we get anywhere from -35 to +35. Heck we have seen it rain/snow/sun/hail all within the same hour. I also have never seen anyone ever enjoy the rain or play in it (unless they are a bit out of it on adult things) so that never really bothers me.- ChadSims2Seasoned NoviceI own everything but MFP Moschino and soon to be ROM. I avoid packs I'm not interested in besides Vampires don't know what I was thinking but all Vampires have been removed from my game and I only use build/buy from it never disabled a pack.
- GalacticGalSeasoned AceI rarely concentrate on what item came from which pack. I keep them all in my game because invariably, I use bits and pieces of them all. As for what packs I have, everything but vampires, my first pet and now, since it appears RoM is out, that one, too. :open_mouth:

Does it works? I actually have Vampires deactivated because i had always some one breaking into my houses and drinking from my sims... but i do love the bb and cas
I've had good luck just deleting Vlad, as he is the main one that does this, and seems to have the ability to get in even if the door is locked. Vampires are still around, but I've so far not had any of them break in and drink. There haven't been any other effects to the game that I can tell. Edit: To do this, just go into Manage Worlds, select Vlad's household in the Forgotten Hollow World and click the garbage can.
If you like Vlad, you might try just playing him and seeing what Trait he has that enables him getting in homes, and remove it, then play your other Sims. But for me, Vlad is deleted in the Template Save that I start playing new Saves with. If I ever want him back, I think he is on the Gallery. Or I will just start a New Game, save him to my Library, and put him back in a different Save I'll title Vlad Is Back, haha.- Daephene1New SpectatorI have never deactivated a pack. The one that annoys me the most is Parenthood. I do like the character values in general, but the messes and the advice pop-ups are super annoying. But so far not enough to make me want to disable the whole pack.
- XxAirixXSeasoned NewcomerI own all the expansions and game packs (well besides Realm of Magic as it isn't out yet) and most stuff packs. I hadn't uninstalled any yet but if taking pictures is going to cause more problems, I might have to uninstall the maschino stuff pack until it is at least fixed as I had force my game to shut down and that is a problem. That is the only regret I have as I got it just for that and it is still broken. Doesn't matter if they fix approved pictures if you can't even take them.
- RouenSimsSeasoned TravelerI have a tiny bit of regret for buying Seasons, but not very much regret. I love all the packs.
- I own them all to date and have not deactivated or uninstalled any. My favorite so far has surprised me because I didn't really care if we got it or not before it came out, but it'd be Seasons. I didn't think I wanted it that badly, but after it was here I was really surprised and impressed at how good it is.
My biggest disappointment to date is Outdoor Retreat. I think I was hoping for something other than what we got there. Its just...different scenery in which to fish. A skill we already had. It added Herbalist but its a skill I never need or care to use because if felt like an afterthought. That said, I really enjoyed some of the CAS items enough to make it worth having the pack anyway.
That may or may not change today. I just purchased and am downloading at this moment, the Moschino (probably spelled it wrong.. sorry) pack and I have seen mixed reviews. Can say I don't think I like most of the clothing that came with it but I'm always intrigued by new careers and skills so the new career should be fun anyway. - I have Parenthood, City Living, Get Together and Seasons. I regret buying Get Together, I never really used the groups, the dancing skill was lacking and the cafe's didn't work very well.
- akl1226New SpectatorI own them all and use them all fairly often in my game. I think the only one I semi regret buying even though I got it on sale is my first pet stuff, nothing more than I just don’t really use it very much. I also don’t use vampires. very much but I’ve never really had a story in mind where they fit. I want to play them because they seem cool when I’ve tested them out. I was most disappointed in island living but I do not regret buying it just wished there was more to do gameplay wise. I don’t have any deactivated and don’t plan on doing so. If it’s a pack I’m not super interested in I’ll wait for a sale so it’s harder to regret buying it. I got most everything in a bundle or on sale the exceptions being island living, a few stuff packs here and there that I really wanted, Strangervillie, and I plan on buying realm of magic come Tuesday.
