I agree with everyone else. I did this for a legacy challenge, but I found it easy. By the second gen, my Sims were living wealthy lives.
When I FINALLY make it to 10 generations, I plan to try it again. This time, though, I will start my founder with a toddler. I think that will be much more challenging.
Or possibly make it your goal to have a Sim go from $0 to $1 mil and ALSO reach the top of a (go to work) career. What I mean is don't do the Politician career from home because that's quick and easy; your Sim should actually go to work for 8-ish hours a day. I think that would be much more challenging, since traditional jobs are usually less lucrative than at-home means.
