Why do people not like MOO?

Aside of the worse issues I would like to mention that MOO makes it hard to do small changes to the building. Maybe I can't move a desk because there are cheated objects on top of it that will be floating in the air or maybe I can't change chair because it cuts into other things and wont fit anywhere after I touch it. To me that makes the whole building very unlikeable.

For me it’s because nearly every restaurant (for example) I download from the Gallery is broken due to routing issues. Very few creators go the extra mile and playtest their build. Instead, they stuff it full of objects and position the interior components with only aesthetics in mind.

I always playtest mine, because I make them for my Sims to live in, not just to share. It is certainly a good idea. There's nothing more disappointing than getting a lot you think looks cool and realizing you can't play it. I rarely download other people's lots, so if I do, it's because I didn't want to build it myself (and don't want to fix it).

That's what I do too.

I use MOO to decorate and build, but I do play test to make sure that there are no routing or usability issues with the build. I also download the lot WITHOUT MOO to see if everything stays. That way if someone whose not familiar with the MOO cheat DLs the lot, it will STILL look like it's supposed to in the thumbnail or the pics. So my opinion is that as long as use of the MOO cheat doesn't affect playability or what the lot looks like without the cheat on when DL'ing, it's fine. I'd hate for someone to DL my build and find it unusable.

your cat reminds me so much of my cat. He lived to be 19, miss him so much.

I use MOO all the time when I build and decorate a lot. Without it is so hard to make things look really good.

MOO? as in the cheat bb.moveobjects?

i never use it. however occasionally i run across a situation in playtesting my lots where my sim gets stuck inside a bathroom and can't get out unless i reload the game, not sure that is related to it or a whole other unrelated matter?

aside from that, i usually build my lots to the functional aspect alone and worry about any clutter when the build is finished.

The problem is that EA changes routing frequently. I have had doors and sinks that were usable when I build a lot and became unusable a good while later after a patch.

I read somewhere once it’s a developer cheat, to be switched on for decorating and then off, during gameplay.

I thought that was an interesting note as I always leave it on once I’ve turned it on, but apparently even having the cheat turned on effects something, the routing or whatever, not just badly placed items
