I've been watching a lot of Discover University gameplays and the EA livestream and I am wondering why the new world seem to be so empty of people/students? There's no one around the two university areas? Am I missing something? I was really hoping for a real university feel with tons students and professors walking to/from the buildings between the classes, like in real life.

@LeGardePourpre Do you mean that the only people walking around the areas are students in dorms? Because what I mean is the areas around the schools. No one is walking around like in all the other worlds? They look so empty.

It could be because the game has a restriction of 20 sims per lot unless you use mods, so if you are at a lot with 10 sims, then that leaves only 10 sims left to spawn as sims walking around. I wonder myself how the game will spawn students, and if they will be random sims with a trait like "university student" like other sims for specific worlds(I think sulani sims have a hidden trait called sulani resident or something), or if they will actually be students who are attending classes. If they are not actually students, then they will have no reason to leave the lots and that could explain why no one would be walking around.

I don't know if you use MC command center of not, but it has a setting to increase/decrease the max. number of 'sims in zone' - I think the game default is 20 - I adjusted it to 40ish and I see a lot more sims around and about in each neighbourhood as a result.

There are Sims that spawn during the organization events that do have the overhead "Bot Savants Member" and similar, but I don't think Students do have that indicator. If there's a Sim in the Britechester world, I think they're generally students and not random townies, unless they're there for things like a party or one of the sports events (in the latter case they'll disappear to 'watch' said event, probably).

It probably doesn't help that the neighborhoods span across quite a bit of area so the Sims are scattered around more than they would be at, say, the beach area in Brindleton Bay or the boulevard part in DSV.

Perhaps students will not walk streets during classes hours? No idea...

I did notice especially at night that no one seemed to walk around campus in the livestream; are campus grounds usually barren of students in the night hours?

Depends on the campus. I attended a major university that was packed with people night and day. I also attended a rural university that would get barer at night.

Yeah, I noticed that aswell. I don't have any problems with few sims in the streets in other worlds (I think the worlds always look ok spawned), but in Britechester I could se no other sims but the active ones in the streets.
