Why My Sim Is Unresponsive Sometimes?

You can try pausing the game or opening up the options menu at the top right of the screen. That tends to get things moving again.

My sims freeze all the time. Its so frustrating because time still ticks by! I tend to use the rest cheat. Sometimes I have to use it on them all to find out who the culprit was because literally everything and everyone just stands there!

Normally when my sims freeze it's because someone is trying to talk with a child or teenager doing homework, it can freeze the whole household until I cancel the talk action. Lately I am noticing a sim will be stuck with an action I can't cancel, go to sleep, they will stand in front of the bed and do nothing and I cannot cancel the action. I usually have to restart the game for it to be removed.

After this last patch my sims have been freezing like crazy! They appear as if they are in the middle of a conversation, and sometimes they freeze while looking at one another. I have to go to Manage World to fix it, and when I do time reverts itself.

I save and exit the game yesterday when a patient has just make a booking with the doctor and just signed up in the vet podium and the doctor hasn't greeted yet the patient when I exit save the game.

Then you just close the option menu I guess. Usually I hit pause and then hit play and that works. Once nothing worked though, my sim was frozen, I think I had to restart the game.

Yeah, just leave it up for a few seconds and then close it. I'm not sure what causes the unresponsiveness, because it happens randomly, and in most of my saves.

@bootsguy are you still playing on that HP laptop DxDiag you posted in tech last year ? If so that laptop does not meet requirements. Seasons in every sims game has always upped the game making it more demanding to a computer . You really need a computer that meets recommended requirements.

@bootsguy @teajaylove sims being unresponsive is a sign of playing on an under-powered computer. If your computer meets recomneded requirements and getting sim freezing , something else may be going on
