I loaded my game and within a minute or so, the BBQ caught on fire. Twice. Then did it again a few minutes later. I switched households and lo! their kitchen caught on fire too. Did the percentage chance for house fire increase in the latest update? Did I toggle something on in MCCC as I was experimenting with it? Was it just a weird streak of bad luck? Now, I don't mind a fire once in a while, like it had been doing, but this many all clumped together is making me nervous about cooking dinner in real life. ;)

Do you have bad lot traits or unskilled sims doing the cooking? ... and yes I think there may have been a little tweak at some point in the last few patches. I've seen some more than usual but really not a lot unless you use certain things to cook on or they don't have skills.. or you give them miserable traits and have them cook while in a bad mood.

I always have a house fire with novice cooks. Always.

I never let my sims make chocolate chip cookies, that always starts a fire. lol

If I don't want them my sims always "cook" garden salads, fruit salad and BLT's until they are about level 2 or even 3. If they sneak off to a grill on their own it's their own fault if they burn up.

It is a bit ridiculous. I’m pretty sure most adult cooks (however unskilled) wouldn’t have a four alarm fire going within two minutes of turning the stovetop on.

I've seen some more than usual but really not a lot unless you use certain things to cook on or they don't have skills.. or you give them miserable traits and have them cook while in a bad mood.

The first thing I have them make is usually a garden salad. The finger in the ear then hand tossing the salad is soooooo gross and cracks me up, gets me every time. Who thought up that animation?

Ikr? I agree...except...I have run across a couple of people over the years I think could burn water.

I have had maybe ten or twelve fires in the past. Up until Island Living was released I rarely had kitchen fires or fires when my Sims cooked on their grills. One of the features in Island Living is the friendly Islanders will come to extinguish any fires that happen on your lots. In order to trigger this new feature, the chance of having a fire was given a little boost so fires now happen more frequently. And it has become an annoyance rather than an entertaining new feature.

Ahhhh! That makes sense. This really was unusual in frequency and it just started today. Yes, it was annoying by the third time. We needed some friendly islanders to come help in Willow Creek.

I never get house fires in Sims 4 - they were horrible fires in Sims 2 and 3 - sometimes in 1 too but love the sprinkler system nothing ever burns and never get a fire death either. Love it. I cannot figure out what you are doing wrong.
