Windenburg island a ghosttown?!

I moved my adventurers into the little lot on the island (the one with the bluff) and I am a bit spooked at how quiet it is. There was no welcome wagon because, of course they straight went to their vacation/adventure but they have been home now for 3 days and no walkabouts. I haven't evicted any of the premades and they are still living in there houses on the island but my Sims don't meet anyone. Is this normal or is something wrong with my game? I've never noticed this anywhere else. There is always a fair amount of foot traffic in f.i. willow creek, oasis and of course the city (I haven't had sims live anywhere else though, and this is first time in Windenburg).

  • I think it's normal. It's like that in my game too. I use the island for historical saves, and it's perfect because I don't have to worry about other sims walking around in modern clothing.
  • Ah, thank god! I thought my game was glitching :relieved: Thanks
  • Yeah I think it is normal. I like the seclusion. I imagine a small ferry goes from there to mainland like every 5 hours or so and that is why there isn't a lot of people wandering around...lol Too bad there isn't a real ferry the sims can get on and then load screen to the mainland.
  • I put a small park there so a few more show up sometimes, but it's usually very quite there when I'm there to.
  • I really like the island because it's quiet. There are no stalkers that start patrolling the neighborhood at 6:30 AM every morning. I don't see the same Sims jogging by throughout the day and late into the night. The worst ones are Eliza Pancakes, Nancy and Geoffrey Landgraab, Bjorn and Clara. In Willow Creek and Oasis Springs, teens come out late at night but can't be bothered to stop to talk to one of my playable teens. Newly generated townies aren't compelled to come to my neighborhood to grill platter after platter of food and then leave it all over the place to spoil. Vampires stroll around after the teens clear out in Willow Creek and Oasis Springs. The vampires are the only ones that I don't mind. They, at least, would stop to chat.

I like the lack of foot traffic on the island. Although recently I've noticed the mail carrier wandering around off and on during the week, even when no mail has been delivered,

The welcome wagon, for me, is always Clara and one other person from either her family or the Villareal family. I evict the Bro household because their lot is my favorite so they're gone when my Sims move in.

I've also noticed that the game doesn't generate as many townies when my Sims live on the island. If My Sims live anywhere in Willow Creek or Oasis Springs I see new townies walking around - elders and teens during the day, adults and young adults at night. I'm not sure why teens are walking around residential areas from about 10 AM until Noon when my teens are at school.

I've added a seafood restaurant and a small park to my island so that pulls visitors to the area when my Sims travel to either of those lots.
