I'm sure many of you are aware of the game what made TS4 what it is today, The Sims Olympus. It was supposively a MMO Sims game, much like The Sims Online. I personally would have given it a shot. Nope. Judging by the bare bones watered down sims 4 we got I can only imagine how lacking an online mmo version would have been. To me, what makes the sims the sims would not be possible in an online game. Just because they would have called it "the sims" and you would have gone around interacting with other players using a sim like avatar doesn't make it the sims.However, I think if they had just gone though with their original idea there wouldn't be so much disappointment. Had it just been an mmo/multiplayer type thing, players like myself would have known from the get go that this wasn't meant to be a true sims game and that it would never be a sequel to the series. As it is now, it's not the game that the majority of the development time went into creating, and it's not the true sequel to the series we would have gotten had they began development with single player offline in mind. It's just.... incomplete, barren, and lacking focus.

I was about to comment yes yes yes! But then I thought of some of the people on this forum and having extended exposure to them make me want to jump off a cliff so if I can guarantee I'm playing with nice people then yeah I'm totally up for it 100% but I can't guarantee so therefore I must pass!

It really depends on how the game operated. If the entire online world was made up of other players than I probably wouldn't buy it. The sims was created to simulate life, and if all it has is player controlled avatars, instead of simulation of non playable characters, than as far as I'm concerned it wouldn't be the sims. But that's just my take, I'm sure many people would enjoy that kind of game. Just not sure that it would be a wise choice to take the franchise to that level at this point in time.

Probably not as I don't play a lot of online games as for one, you always have to have other people help you out in order to really get anywhere and usually I just get stuck and quit (I hated that facebook sims game before they took it down as unless you had friends to help you out or really wanted to spend money, it is pretty limiting. Free Play isn't much fun either). Also since it isn't a battle game, it just feels really weird.

I will stick with buying the PC games and expansions as that is fun and what I feel Sims should be like. I like how we can pick and choose how to run the town and all that without worrying about needing to ask for items or something from others, etc....
