CAS, Build Mode, Manage Worlds, Gallery not working properly

Hi!

So after the most recent update my game has been acting up a lot. First, I went into CAS because I wanted to add a sim to my family from the Gallery but when I clicked the Gallery icon (both the top and bottom one), it did nothing. Then, I went back into my game and all of a sudden the screen was almost completely black, except for the little squares for the sims which helped me locate them and click on their plumbobs, only then, the black screen started to slowly fade and go back to normal. Then, I tried going to Build Mode but it didn't let me click on any options no matter how many times I clicked. Tried going into Manage Worlds too and that didn't work either. I've already cleared all caches and repaired through Origin. Has anyone else experienced something like this or have any idea how I could try to fix it?

Thank you.

I cleared the localthumbcache.package, cache, avatarcache.package, cachestr, onlinethumbnailcache by manually deleting them, didn't realize it didn't do anything for Mac users. I just realized I needed to update a mod that I was using and also used the Reset Origin Tool to see if that helps. I'll launch a new clean game and report later to see if anything was fixed, fingers crossed!

    Thank you.

Ah, you cleared the game cache, thanks for clarifying. Yeah, that works on Mac although the easiest thing is to just rename or move the Sims 4 folder so a brand new, clean one is created in it's place 🙂

Took a couple of days but had time to check on my game yesterday (after another update) and sad to report CAS is still acting up. I was able to access my library on the Gallery and download a sim from it but after clicking on the check mark to go back to live mode and play, I had to force quit the game because it was taking way too long (I'm talking over 1 hr) to load back into my game.  So I'm at a loss and desperate to find something that will help me fix this issue.

Tried new folder just about now and my CAS is still messed up. I can only see my infant sim and the rest are not even showing on the little preview squares, can't click on anything to make them appear. Build mode seems to be working fine again so far.

    • Operating System (Version): MacOs Ventura version 13.3.1
    • Mac model: 13 inch MacBook Pro M1 (2020)
    • Processor: Apple M1(not sure where to find this info but I think this is it)
    • Memory (RAM): 8 GB
    • Graphics: Apple M1, GPU, Built-In Retina LCD

Please let me know if the info provided is correct or not so I can list it correctly if it isn't.

I've also attached a screenshot of how my CAS looks like for reference.

    Thank you!

After the game created a new Sims 4 folder, what content did you copy over from your previous Sims 4 folder to the new one? The screenshot looks 100% Mod related.

Literally everything except the things the new game generated. I did check my mods before to see if they were up to date before though, and if they weren't I downloaded the newest version and installed that one in my game. So I'm so confused as to what might be causing this. No LE's either. Could it be cc related? This is another screenshot in game, you can see the thumbnails of all my sims but they are invisible in game.

The point of the new folder is to try a new clean game and if it works, find the culprit in your existing folder. The problem is one or more Mods, not a Mac issue. Moving to the Game & Mods forum for further Mods help if needed.
