CC always broken.
Almost every day now my game won't work. I try so hard to find broken cc, but it feels nearly impossible. I use Twisted Mexi's Better Exceptions, but sometimes my game still won't work. It seems like new cc breaks every day. I am so tired of having to remove or even delete and restart my entire mods folder. I have everything sorted by creator. I'm just confused how some people have folders that are like 3 years in the making and it runs fine, but I'll have a couple hundred cc and it breaks. What am I doing wrong?
I hear your frustration. What you're going to have to do is something referred to as the 50/50 method. Since you've got your mods in separate folders, if I understood you correctly, you should be able to slide some of these folders out of your Mods folder. Set them aside, in a safe place (desktop, perhaps). Make sure to delete the localthumbcache.package. Start your game and see what happens. If it plays, then you can exit the game, and add one of the other folders. Yes, it is tedious, but you may find you can have all of them back, if you don't get impatient and slam the rest back in all at once. The key step is to DELETE the localthumbcache.package. each and every time. This happy little package holds the bits from mods, which can truly bungle up your game.
