CC prevents SIMS 4 from starting - PC

Hello, how are you ?

I am trying to play on my new custom-built PC (I used to play on my macbook air). I am still new to the PC world so I maybe the solution is obvious to users but I might not get it since I haven't used windows in years...

My problem is the following :

- I've downloaded the new EA App on the PC, logged in, downloaded my SIMS 4 game in the library.

- I've repaired it before trying to open it in vanilla mode; worked all right.

- put in my Mods, Save and Trays folders that I copied from my Macbook SIMS 4 files.

- tried to launch the game, but the following error message appeared, naming the CC that was the cause (see picture attached)

- I've deleted the file, making sure I follwed the correct source as shown in the error message

- repaired my game (while taking out the mods folder ofc)

- tried launching it again

- message shows up even tough I manually deleted the CC file named in the error message.

I've tried looking if it was coming from another file (like the OneDrive) but it appears not to be the case.

Here's my diag in text format.

Please let me know if there's something different I should be doing.

Thank you in advance for any kind of help! 🙂

  • @Meena_builds  Mods and custom content can be corrupted when moving from macOS to Windows, or vice versa.  So please delete everything you've moved, and try transferring the files again.  This time though, zip the folder first.  Right-click the folder and select Compress, then once the .zip is on your Windows PC, right-click and Extract.

For the deletion process itself, it's entirely possible OneDrive is redownloading the files, especially considering it's showing in the file path in your error.  If you'd like to get rid of OneDrive entirely, or stop it from syncing your Sims 4 files, please see the relevant section of this post:

Otherwise, you can login to onedrive.com and remove the files there, and they should stay removed.  You can also pause OneDrive syncing while you're setting up your game: right-click the cloud icon in the lower-right corner of the screen to see the option.
