Creating an Acne Breakout Mod & using appearence_modifiers

Hello! So I've posted a similar thread on MTS, but I'm working on an Acne Breakouts mod for the Sims 4. Similar to the Sims 2, the mod would cause teen sims to have an acne breakout upon hygiene failure (or just have the acne breakouts at random points in the day). In order to do this, I'm using the new appearance_modifier features that were added to buffs with the Get to Work EP. So the breakout itself is essentially just a buff, and the acne that I'm using is custom content from Around the Sims 4.

I've actually made significant progress, but I'm stuck on two things:

1. Essentially what the appearance_modifier feature does is add a CAS part to the sim as long as the buff is active, and I figured I could use this feature to add acne to my sims for a temporary amount of time. However, the acne is an external custom content file in my Mods folder (courtesy of Around the Sims 4) and calling a reference to the file doesn't seem to be working. The buff that I created, when added, works fine but behaves as if there is no appearance_modifier. (I would post the XML, but the forum seems to be having issues with allowing me to do that.)

2. The amount of time that the acne buff (which is also a +2 Embarassed moodlet) remains on the sim is decreased by them doing interactions such as "Hide in Bed" and "Give Self Pep Talk in Mirror." I would love to set a duration on the moodlet and have it not decrease except with time.

Thanks in advance for your help.
  • any solutions to the issue that the XML doesn't recognize my custom content cas_part ID under appearence_modifiers?
