Hello, fellow Simmer!
I am also on Mac and have run into a similar issue when trying to create a sim. I haven't played in a while so I decided to plan again. When I was installing the current version of the game, it kept going back in forth from pathing and then not downloading. I wish I had a screenshot to show what I meant. Anyways, the update kept stopping saying an error downloading. When I did get into the game to create a sim, I could not see the sim at all, and the box that displays the sim at the bottom left had a red "x" over it. I will include a screenshot. Not sure what's going on but I empathize with your frustration! Hopefully, there is a fix soon, for our sake.
