Game deleting all my files and data

So I haven't played the sims in a while. Today I loaded up the game for the first time in two months and it updated. I entered the game and it had deleted all of my saves and my entire gallery data of things that I had saved. The only thing that was still available that I had created was the stuff I had uploaded to the public gallery. I searched through all the options and checked my files to recover my old save files but I don't have any game slots. The game is acting like I have never played before. Does anyone know how I could fix this or if it is even fixable? Or do I have to completely start from scratch?

  • @mcleah03  Is it possible your content was uploaded to OneDrive?  If you're not sure, please check OneDrive's Documents folder for any Sims 4 content.  If you do find your old Sims 4 folder, you can move it back to the local version of Documents\Electronic Arts, and the game should read your saves and other data again.

If you don't find anything in OneDrive or don't use it, try searching your computer for stray files.  Open a File Explorer window, click This PC in the left panel, and enter Slot_ in the search bar in the upper-right corner.  If you find any saves, click on one and select Open file location in the menu; you'll jump to wherever the saves are, which will hopefully be where your other content went as well.  Here again, you can move the files back to the appropriate place and they should show up in-game again.
