Infinite loading screen when loading household

I haven’t been able to play since the last patch update in September. I updated all my script mods and tried to play but my main household won’t load at all. When I play a different household in the same save file it works. My other save files also work I don’t know what the problem is. When I remove my entire mods folder, the household loads so I’m guessing it’s a broken CC in that specific household. I use Better Exceptions and I just downloaded the most recent version that’s compatible with this patch but it’s not even loading in my game or scanning my files. Please help!

  • axx_ruth13 You'll find a list of broken CC that has no available update in Previously Broken mods and CC. Some recent broken and updated CC reports are in the pinned Broken and Updated Mods and CC lists for patch 1.118. Info on how to isolate a broken mod is in How to Use Mods and CC

If Better Exceptions isn't loading for you, make sure you've downloaded it from the link on the TwistedMexi website and followed the installation instructions precisely. TwistedMexi has support for getting his mods working.

I've had Better Exceptions before and it always worked fine. After the EA update it kept giving wrong exceptions so I just took it out of my game and TwistedMexi just updated it a few days ago so I downloaded the file and put it in my mods folder as I usually do but it's not scanning anything at all when I start the game. I'm assuming that it should be giving me a last exception notice since my game isn't loading at all so something must be wrong but I'm not getting anything.

axx_ruth13 If a mod isn't loading in your game, having had it before won't affect that. You also can't see that it's scanning until you load a household, which you can't do right now. Does it show up in the mod list when you first load?

Regardless, it's unlikely to be blocking household loading. Is there a newly created lastexception.package file in your user folder? If so, you can attach it here.

Your other option (if no report says the cause) for finding the reason you can't load a household is in the first paragraph of my other post. You can't always rely on a mod to tell you about another broken mod/CC -- these other methods are needed.
