My sims cant move stuff on the walls or plant boxes

One of my sims is a painter and i was trying to get them to out up their paintings but it wouldnt work, it would just go back to easel but i can put it in their inventory. Same thing with my other sim, she likes to garden and i couldnt drag the flowers to the plant box, i had to click on the plant box to have her plant the flowers rather than just dragging it onto the plant box then have her plant it. This is weird, this never happened before, i cant even put up pictures on the walls either but it can go into the inventory.
